I managed to blag a silver one from the Pitsea branch in Essex.
I went there saying I phoned on Sunday asking to put one aside for me, the woman brings out a silver one and goes to charge me £199, I stated to her the price should be either £85 or £99. She informs me that is actually for the purple one, I state to her that I asked her colleague to hold a purple one for me, which he hasn't...........anyway, I asked to speak to the manager, which I did and as a goodwill jesture they done it for me for £99 :)

A goodwill gesture you thoroughly took advantage of.

My word, somebody being offered a £199 product for £99 by a store manager and agreeing to it. What is this world coming too?

Rubbish. It was obtained by deception. That is my point.

Fair enough, if the person didn't actually ask for a purple one to be saved as they claim they had to get the deal. In which case, I agree with you!

However, they did ask in an earlier post if it was worth phoning up to have one reserved, so that might just have happened...

OK - I guess we're both suffering from too little information! I interpreted "managed to blag" as an admission of guilt! Had I had a purple one reserved and they produced a silver one and tried to charge double, I'd have been more than a little !!!!!! off.

Honestly I don't give two hoots that I deceived the manager in getting it for £99. Tesco makes enough profits and I'm sure it won't make too much of a dent in their pockets!! ;)
