How can the call be free if you pay for your inclusive minutes to make it?

They don't claim it is free - it says "As long as you have unused minutes to use in your contract, then the call is free." The incremental cost is zero, unlike using the normal phone numbers. I used it late last night with no trouble.

  • I tried it last night, checked my bill after about 45 mins wasn't charged.

  • I used the service to vote last night from my mobile it was quick and painless. Double checked my mobile account and was not charged. I just had to listen to an advert that was for RSPCA. My partner used our landline and again quick and painless.

Its still not Free if you have unused minutes, because normally you would have to pay for the inclusive minutes you are using to make the call.

Maybe they just aren't too pedantic about it?

I've paid for 600 inclusive minutes each month, whether I use them or not, they cost me £24.50.

If I used them to call this phone line it is still £24.50; I can't see that isn't free?

You'd be saying that if someone got free tickets for a football match, it can't be free as they'd use up shoe leather walking to the ground.

  • I seem to remember some phone companies having it in their t&c's that they would charge you as an international call if you were calling a transfer service like this even if the number is part of your inclusive calls.

Remember all those 07xxx call through services to call other countries as part of your inclusive minutes? Several places started charging for them.
