  • Worked absolutely fine for me! I thought the wording was plain as day, quite clearly states you won't be charged for the call to "X Factor"

I hope this business model works out for them as like somebody said earlier you get advertising rammed down your throat watching the show and whats 15 seconds of you life! Think about it the moneysaver way if 15 seconds saves you 35p that's equal to earning £84 an hour :)

Of course they need to actually sell the advertising and then people need to buy whats advertised for it to work but we as consumers have nothing to lose by giving it a go while it lasts do we?
  • It didn't work for me, but I tried to call from a Virgin landline so maybe that's why - the phone went dead as soon as I pressed the first 3 in the number.
  • i rang off my mobile and got charged 35p guess it isnt free!

Mobiles are different, unless free phone numbers are included in your contract then you have to pay for them. Generally all freephone numbers 0808, 0800 etc are all charged on mobiles at a set rate. Some calls are still free thou like 0800 1111 for childline is not charged at all.

Hi Guys. Well the go live has gone well, we had a few mixed messages over the current advert, but we have to fit in with the Telephone line carriers requests. We will change this next week to the advertisers messages

Billy, you will only be charged for a 0333 call if you have no inclusive minutes, Martin and free2call.tv have made this clear in the terms and on all press releases. We had engaged calls which was down to BT's blocking programme but our service has given 100% including our website.

We still have some votes left so feel free to call and vote. It's been a great success and please remember we change the numbers each week so please visit us weekly for the new numbers. :T
  • Hi billysew,

Were you calling from a phone contract with inclusive local call minutes, or a pay-as-you-go phone?

    Cheers

I've just placed a few votes using my inclusive minutes. Fingers crossed they are free!

03 calls are not strictly local calls because you can normally just like a call to a 01/02 number phone them for the same price whether their in next street or 200 miles away.

Ofcom say they must be treated by suppliers the same as 01/02 calls, and if you have inclusive minutes they must be included .

    See: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/media/features/03numbers

Once you dial the number its worth noting the cost of the call if any cant be changed in mid call, so their is no danger of paying premium rates.

If you dont have inclusive minutes you may also be subject to a connection charge,or a minimum call charge.
