I would not go back to tampons after getting this! (Apart from the time I flushed mine down the loo by mistake... :o I was petrified for weeks that it would block the drain pipes!)

It's so easy to use, blooming cheap compared to how much you'd normally spend a month, and doesn't make you all dry down there!

    Hi ladies,
I have had my mooncup for a few months and have a couple of quesitons, sorry they are 'direct' and might be tmi!

    1. What do you store it in when not using? i.e surely the bag doesnt keep it clean? i know i clean it before i use it so maybe i am being over cautious?
    2. Mine has discoloured, is this normal?
    3. How do you clean it, i boil mine in water, is this enough? also it is stained around the writing & little holes, is this normal? or am i not cleaning enough?

I store mine in my bag and it keeps it clean enough if you boil it before you put it away. Some people like to boil theirs before use.
Yes discolouration is usual and it doesn't effect anything other than the way it looks.
I boil mine in water, but once in a while I give it a going over with a spare toothbrush head. You can always boil it with a bit of bicarb of soda too. !!!!! out the holes with a clean pin and that will clear the holes.

    All the best
    Rita

    Hi blushingbride
    1. I keep mine in the little bag, but I sterilise it after use and then again before I use it next month - that's clean enough for me!
    2. Mine has yellowed slightly after 2 years, but I sterilise mine, I think the sterilisng solution helps to keep it 'bright' looking. I don't boil because I just can't be bothered - I would walk away, forget it and come back to a melted lump of rubber! :rotfl:
    3. I use 1/4 baby bottle sterilising tab in a full cup of water*. I also use an old toothbrush to scrub the writing and the blunt end of a needle to clean the little holes.

    * Don't use a stronger solution - I think it can affect the silicone and damage the mooncup  (seem to remember reading something on here to that effect)

ive store mine in the bag, i keep meaning to make myself a 'trendier' looking one, but have never got round to it. mine must be about 8yrs old now, and its still like new

Tbh i put mine in a waterdown bleach & shampoo solution to bring the colour back

Ive never boiled mine (oh actually in think i did before first use), but just find the bleach works best
