  • Hi - I've seen this product before and I've always been quite curious about it.

My main question is...erm...what do you do if you're out all day somewhere? I have quite a heavy bleed for the first couple of days, and often need to change pads/tampons etc in a public toilet. I'm not sure people would like it if I suddenly whipped a mooncup out and washed it in the sink? :D So what do you do instead? Can you just empty it in the toilet and put it back in?

Forgive my ignorance, I'm not trying to be cheeky, I'm just curious. :o

You can just put it back in after emptying it, you can wipe it with tissue too. Some people carry a small bottle of water for this purpose. I've actually found that I need to empty the mooncup much less often than I needed to change pads. Its controversial but some people also use the disabled persons toilet which has a handbasin.
Take the plunge - even if you don't use it on days when you are out at first - I wish I'd bought one much sooner than I did.

I used to be like you and change (super) pads every couple of hours if not every hour (and also find that they weren't that good at coping with the rate of flow:o ). I now find that my periods are much lighter -:j you might find that a couple of months down the line you'll be similar. I now find I can go out all day and not have to empty it until I get back home. No idea why this should be - but NO WAY am I EVER going back to soggy smelly pads - Yuk.

My mooncup is the best present I have ever bought myself - only wish I'd been converted sooner...:D

I have quite a few customers who have it sitting in their drawer for a few months before they psych themselves up and when they do, they laugh at how easy it was after all those months of nervous anticipation!

Just found this thread and have sat for ages reading up to about page 21 of it. I'm convinced I'm going to get one now too. Having read what everyone else has said I feel ready to have a go despite initial worries. Thanks everyone.
