I bought my original mooncup (a brown rubber one) about 7/8 years ago and it worked brilliantly until I started cleaning it with tee tree (which the new ones tell you specifically not to do) so I replaced it with a new one from Boots - you can usually find them on the bottom shelf near the tampons etc in larger stores or online.
New one has been working great and I highly recommend mooncups to everyone I know. Have converted dozens so far :cheesy:
I occasionally boil it to keep it sterile, but other than that, it's really low maintenance and great for the environment, although have't quite committed to using the blood in the garden yet which is supposed to be good for the plants.
As for Toxic shock, my understanding is that because the dont' "draw" the moisture like tampons do or leave any residue, that TSS is highly unlikely.
Enjoy

No experience but it looks very similar to a Mooncup with one important difference. There appears to be only one size available.Never trust a smiling cat0 -
This is money saving expert after all so any has one got any tips of where the best deals are? There are SO many positive comments, its got to be worth giving it a go - I've had a quick look - £17.95 seems to be the best price?

What if you're 29 and had no kids? I don't want to be buying one size and realising it's too big/small and then can't get my money back! Anyone of a similar age got any suggestions? If it helps, I don't need to use very large tampons so I would assume size B.
Also, what on earth happens down there when you turn 30? I dread to think...LBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Debt Now £00 -

Quote from Mooncup sitePlease note that women over the age of 30 years old are increasingly likely to need the size A regardless of giving birth. This is because the tone of vaginal and pelvic floor muscles naturally reduces with age but to varying degrees in different women. Some activities will maintain tone, such as yoga, pilates, dance, so if you are advanced in any these, or similar activities take this into consideration when choosing which size you need. Corrective surgery to the vagina will also have implications.Never trust a smiling cat0 -
So they're saying that at 29 you're all tight and springy but as soon as you hit your 30th birthday you're sagging like a 5 day old balloon? I'm hoping it doesn't quite work like that!LBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Debt Now £00
