no, the stem cannot turn round...it stays stem down-wards, and the 'open' end pointing up. It just stays the right way up, so please don't worry about that.

Suction...its not suction as much, more a case of if you don't break the seal completely theres a little more resistance when you try and take it out.
So...when you come to take it out, pinch it a bit, until you feel the seal break (you'll feel this happen, and might have a slight squelchy noise as well ) then you can remove it.
If its your first time using it, it might be an idea to take it out sooner rather than later, IFSWIM...although most people seem to find that you can leave mooncup in longer than tampons, without changing it, I found it easier at first to do it at around the same time lengths, so there was less risk of the contents spilling out during removal, and also so you get a feel for how long you personally can leave it in for.

HTH...any more questions, stick em on here or PM and I'll try and answer
    Good luck with it!

  • Hi,
I've been wondering if I should get one and have decided to. However, which do I get? I'm 29 and had a c-section so being that I'm 30 next year do I get A or B? Also Boots have them for £19.99 plus 300 advantage points. Thanks a lot everyone.

    Hi ladies
Just thought I'd let you know that after a couple of days use I'm feeling more comfortable with removing the mooncup. I'm getting the hang of the pushing thing.
I'd love to go swimming tonight but I'm really not sure I feel comfortable enough yet.

Glad to know its all going ok.

Swimming - whenever you feel is the right time to go. I took a while to get used to this as well. I'm not sure whether you *have* to, but I empty it just before and reasonably soon after going swimming...just in case!

  • Second day of using now, all is well, had a little leak yesterday but I am wearing a pad just in case, today I didnt insert it far enough and when I threw myself down on the car seat I felt a real pinch, so quickly took it out and adjusted it.

    Its wicked.

  • i brought one and have been using it for the last couple of days, feels good had no problems with it, been working and doing everything i normally would so think i will be sticking with it as its far easier than tampons as nothing to get rid of! ive had no leaks as of yet and as its in all night as well ive had no mess to clean up in the morning which i used to get with pads and tampons so thanks to all for recomending this!!!

I've just finished my first month of using this. I can't believe how clean I feel from using it. Really refreshing after using towels. I never did like tampons. I'll definetley be sticking with it, I even braved swimming in the last day or two of my period.
