I cannot and will not say any more than "DO NOT GIVE UP" if you are certain you are entitled to claim - Settlements do happen !!! ;)

They did eventually phone me back - as my pension was part of a company scheme (a company I no longer work for) I didn't have a choice in what happened back in 2000/1. The money was simply reinvested in the fund so I guess I'll see it eventually (tho it's not doing v well.:()

• I submitted mine late February and followed it by post, special delivery (It's not that I don't trust Scottish Widows, it's..... ermmm I don't know how to finish that statement)

I got a letter today saying that I was sent a cheque for £2,515.65 which was cashed on 30th August 2000.

It was not. There is no way on this earth that I received a cheque for that amount then or at any other time, from SW or Lloyds.

I can remember phoning SW at the time and was told that I was not eligible.

So what is everyone doing about this?

My email is rcleal@aol.com - and I would be very interested in any routes to help me get my money from these crooks.
• You're doing better than me I submitted my claim end of January, and have not heard anything, time to send in a written response, I think. Did you move house during this period, I think that you will need to submit proof that you were not living at the address they sent the cheque to. You better read all the posts as a couple of people have also received this letter.

Policyholder circulars went out in 2000 and if they didn't have your address they should have tried to find you.

Is it a joint life policy?
