Despite my earlier optimism at the end of December that Lloyds TSB would be able to get microfiche copies of my bank statements to prove or disprove the claim by Scottish Widows that I cashes my cheque for £500 back in 2000..... no reply as yet from Lloyds. It seems like everything is working against me here. Any joy for anyone else as yet? I realise that time seems to be against us....
  • I spoke to someone at Lloyds who seemed convinced that they could access the records. He did say that it could take a long time. Why not give them another call to find out what progress has been made, it might prompt them to hurry things up a little. Never know, it could be all us Scottish Widows customers putting in request!!!!:D:D

Apologies if this info is in this thread, but I couldn't see it - I am a bit !!!! when it comes to pensions, finance etc, so bear with me please!

Mine is called a Company Personal Pension Plan - it's what I took out when they recommended contracting out of SERPS back in the eighties.

Does this sort of plan qualify?

I still get my paperwork to my Mum's house - I moved house in the 90's, and again seven years ago, but I never changed the address with SW. So on the information form, I put my address in 2000 as Mum's, and put in my new address. Hope this won't bu99er things up?

I don't ever remember having any letters from them about this. Then again, in 2000, I had my dad seriously ill in hospital, and was battling the CSA (still am now). To be perfectly honest, I don't think I even opened some letters from Scottish Widows assuming they were just pension updates, and at that time, I don't think I was earning enough money to be paying NI contributions, so I didn't pay much attention.

Anybody know if my plan will qualify?

    Thanks

  • Hi all

I'm trying to find out for my Mum who has a with profits savings plan with SW - does that count as a bank account and therefore doesn't qualify? She has called them - months ago and not heard back from them!

  • I rang Scottish Widows today, after trying to research on the internet if I was elligible, to find our if my life policy would qualify and was told I could not be told that by anyone on the phone......I must submit the form on the internet. I quieried this as not every person has internet facilities, especially the elder generation with life policies. And rather reluctantley the young man filled in a form for me and said someone would contact me within 12 weeks. I did not get the impression that assistance was happily being given, and still do not know if I am elligable . I have a letter before the Lloyds takeover telling me of the proposal of a takeover in my file, but have never had anything else. (No change of address since then). I wonder how hard S.W. have tried to contact people?
