I think you don't get a phone numbber unless your a serious seller, the best way to do it is through email.

The above post is absolutely spot on. I believe they do have a system where by you can regain your status but you will have to e-mail them to find out. There's no phone number for ordinary users of eBay.

Do I stand a chance of getting my account back ?

I can only think that this could be for an item that I wanted to end early
due to it being listed by mistake but was unable to because it was a one day
auction and I didn't realise there was a problem with the listing until less
    than 12 hours was up.

As there were bidders bidding, I didn't want to sell to anyone when the item
wasn't available so I used a a regular buyer of mine, whom I trusted
wouldn't hold me to a deal, to bid a high amount to guarantee they won the
item. I emailed everybody who had placed a bid on the item to let them know
that that the item was not available and asked them not to bid. I even
changed the pictures on the listing to big graphics asking people not to bid
! However, the bids kept coming for large amounts, I didn't want to
disappoint people or put my reputation at risk by selling an item that I
didn't have so I took the actions that I did ! I hope this makes sense !

They've left me in such a mess ! I cant even get to see My Ebay webpages to sort sales that need to be dispatched etc !!!!

The reason for your suspension will have some impact on how quickly, if ever you will be reinstated. What was the reason given for your suspension and have you been given a 'timed' suspension ie a month, or an indefinite one?

As has already been said there is no telephone number, you will have to deal with it all by email. Firstly, if it is a timed suspension they will probably have already told you what you need to do to get reinstated, maybe provide more info or fax through some documents. If they haven't told you that already then email them through their help pages and ask.

If it was a suspension after a final warning, ie for pirating then you are stuck as you are unlikely to get reinstated at all.

The other reason for suspension is for a minor infringement, like forgetting to pay your fees on time, that is usually the easiest to rectify as you need to sort out whatever it was that got you suspended then email to ask for reinstatement. However, ebay will put you at the end of a very long queue, even a minor suspension can see you not being able to operate for two or three weeks, so you will have to be patient.

I can understand why you're frustrated. I know some people on the board won't have too much sympathy for you as you must have gone through a lot of stages before listing something by mistake.

However, in most cases as long as you're not a poor performing seller/buyer then you should be able to regain your status. E-Mail eBay as soon as possible using their contact pages and see what they come back with, I did have a problem with an account of my own once and had to fax in some details...this may be what you have to do..

I cant offer a suggestion RE the items you need to dispatch...unless you can do it via your PayPal account, as this will give you the item number and address etc. so at least you'll be able to get the items out to those customers who have made purchases recently.

Ok, reading your post that crossed with mine I wonder if they have got you for either shill bidding or fee avoidance in some way.

If you asked someone who is associated with you to bid on your auction then that is shill bidding, for whatever reason you were doing it, however if it was that then you would have been giving the reason that you were using associated accounts to gain an advantage.

It was a few years ago when this happened to me and to be honest I can't remember what reason was given for suspension but it was all sorted out very quickly. It wasn't shill bidding though as I only had one account at the time!

From what I do remember though it was pretty swift to be sorted out. So you'll be back selling again soon I'm sure!

I thought I was doing the right thing. I'd sheduled a load of items for one day auctions, found after one was listed that I'd miscalculated and that item wasn't infact available. I didn't want to disappoint bidders who were paying loads of money and to be honest I didn't want the embarassment of having to tell someone that the item wasn't available and risk my 100% feedback score after 700+ sales ! I thought the best way of sorting it was to get someone I trusted wouldn't hold me to a deal to buy the item 'for me' in effect.

Yes, I've been had for shill bidding. Apparently I can appeal after 7 days. I can't wait that long though, this is my business ! :(

Completely understand your concerns, however these are the rules of eBay. And I thought eBay could only get you on shill bidding if an account bidding on your item had the same IP address as the seller...?

Like I say, look at your PayPal account so that you can send off the current items that need to go out....at least this will keep your customers happy for the mean time. If eBay are telling you to wait 7 days then I don't think theres much you can do to shorten this time....just grin and bare it I suppose...

Good luck either way! And keep on asking for advice if you need it, theres plenty of people on MSE willing to help!:j
