  • In the past 3 days I've gifted a wardrobe, a storage box and a computer desk. I think I've only ever received a dinner service but I don't often reply to offered posts, I always think some people will need it more than me! I do need a new printer though as our has packed up so I may put my first 'wanted' request on.

The manufacturers more or less give away printers these days and then try to charge you 800 GBP per litre for the ink in its supposedly patented cartridges.

Do some research about refilling the cartridges and/or sourcing copies from the Channel Islands (no VAT) before you get a printer that gobbles up cartridges.

I gave away a car, perfect runner just no MOT, also a double bed settee, plus loads of smaller bits and bobs, I liked the travelling boxes we used to do when I lived in Weston-super-Mare, now I live in Birmingham I am never quick enough to bag anything
Anyone can cuddle but only the Welsh can cwtch :)
  • What goes around comes around..... after my earlier post I decided I would put a wanted ad on and have just hooked up a great Lexmark printer, far better than the one we used to have! Lovely man replied, pick ed it up within the hour and have just ordered some ink off ebay! I will keep an eye on how much it uses ink but even if it gets us till past Christmas I'll be more than happy.....
  • Ive not got around to giving anything as yet as were still sorting out, but Ive received a bread maker, two ferrari playstation steering wheels, and a boot liner for our focus estate. And I advertised for a bread maker which was nice of someone to get back to me, saves me a fortune and tastes loads better!

Ooh and I almost forgot about the all in one printer hp printer with loads of ink that someone didnt want anymore.

I started using Freecycle while doing a house clearance a few years back.Brilliant.Loads of stuff I did not want or need was offered it to friends, anything left was put on freecycle and collected but some very gratefull people.During the house clearance I did regular journeys to the tip and was amazed at the amount of useable stuff thrown away.Everthing from furniture to tools and even an unridden mountain bike (it still had the stringy bits on the tyres).Sureley people can put a bit of effort in and ask friends or offer items to charity shops.Must stop now,I"m starting to rant!.

Does anyone know if it's OK to offer foodstuffs on Freegle? I always have loads and loads of surplus fruit/veggies from the garden and would much prefer it to be used rather than end up on the compost heap. Can't remember ever seeing anything similar posted in my area.

    Sorry if OT :o

I would like to know how long it takes to get an offer put on the site. I posted my first offer 24 hours ago and it still shows 'waiting for the mods approval'
  • Mods vary, can take up to 48 but after a while it doesn;t have to go through them any more (when they've decided you can be trusted:) )...
As far as I know you can put foddstuff on (we have...and some very strange ones at that!) but individual rules apply, for instance some allow pets and some don't so I would check with mods. :)

We have had a clearance (still in progress so lots more to go) & have gifted a tank for gerbils, 2 storage units, an uplifter shade, tens machine & a bag of misc car boot stuff.

Also put on OH's old bike, got lots of replies for that one but have given it to a guy collecting for jolerider www.jolerider.org/ who send them on to Africa to help people getting to school.
