I love freecycle , I have given loads of stuff , an old tent , bags and bags of kids clothes , garden furniture , our old 3 piece ,to name a few.
But we have recived too - in my house right now from freecycle i have a lovely table and chairs,a high bed, a standard single bed, a full set of girly bedroom furnture , countless books and games oh and my lovely sewing machine .I am journeying to a debt-free life.
Our estimated debt-free date is January 2040. I'm on a mission to bring that date closer!

I dont know about other freegle groups, but on ours, pets are not allowed to be offered/wanted0 -
I love Freegle. I have given and received in probably equal quantities. To name a few things I have received: pine cot (currently being used), an IKEA TV stand, lovers garden seats (blasted & painted these), baby buggy, baby clothes, dining table & chairs, rotary washing line, baby toys, knitting patterns, books.
I just love the randomness of it, and the buzz of wondering whether you'll be lucky enough to be selected and then the excitement of wondering what the item will be like when you get there.
I am always very polite when responding/asking for anything and I do feel that this has been the reason why I have been so successful. I am always shocked at the responses when I have offered stuff, with replies simply saying "I'll have that" or "Let me know when I can collect" and nothing else. Some people are too busy trying to be first past the post, that manners and courtesy just go out of the window, and I don't like that.
My best Freegle item was a pink Nintendo DS which was being offered as faulty. I managed to buy a replacement screen and fit it myself, following instructions off the internet. I now have a fully functional DS which cost me £6!0 -
If you live in the St Helens Borough area, and are interested in using freegle, this is the link
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/freeglesthelensborough/
This is run locally and we are trying promte keeping things in the area to build up a more community feel, and also to reduce out carbon footprint.
We do allow offers for pets but only at a last resort. We would never allow a wanted as there are loads of pets in shelters waiting for a home.

why?????????????
is it because you dont recieve stuff that you feel that you souldnt offer it out,?? the idea is to keep things ot of landfill and not clogg up this planet, please if you dont like freecycle, try your nearest womens refuge, childrens home, hospital etc, im sure they would love anything.
I agree completely, just head down to your nearest oxfam or charity shop and give your stuff to them, don't throw it away!0 -
I have been using freecycle for about a year.I have given lots of things away and also received many items. These incluse a dog (last week)to replace my one that died, a vacuum cleaner, pine chest of drawers (collected today) mattress topper , clothing, cat litter, etc.
I thoroughly recommend freecycle. You will make many friends with the regular freecyclers and help keep good stuff out of landfill. One mans rubbish is anothers treasure!!0 -

I have things offered on my local freegle site at the moment and it never ceases to amaze me the bad manners of some people either, I'm not expecting a groveling reply but a bit of manners wouldn't go amiss with some of them. I purposely held off offering the items until finally someone someone with manners replied and is collecting items tomorrow. Maybe it's just me but I was brought up to say please or thank you and if someone has taken the time to sit and offer it then surely they deserve courtesy. I'm sure a lot of people just try to get everything to either sell on or hoard lol, which I don't have a problem with, just a shame we can't offer them some manners! My first freecycle request was for a small food processor (an item I have never had). I was immediately offered THREE! And, as a new member, was particularly surprised that none were broken & all were fit for purpose - therefore not a matter of 'getting rid of unwanted rubbish'! I am thrilled to bits with the usefulness of the one I chose - and quite astonished at the generosity of people out there.0

Have given away
lots of toys, kids bikes, garden shed, paving slabs, steamer to name a few.
Have recieved willow hanging baskets, george foreman, bike lock, mans bike and various other bits.
It is a brilliant option, lets hope it goes on forever.0
