  • Goldie - one minute you are cynical and earlier on thread you were optimistic - make your mind up!

I'm surprised that others are not contributing to the thread more - guess they are alot of ostriches - it won't happen type of attitude - bet your bottom dollar it will if we don't do something about it!

I didn't think there was much more to add. We're just waiting on Martin getting involved now aren't we?

Point taken Rev.. But they have to do some research first and I want the thread to stay up there! On the other hand I can't keep bumping it - it would be good to see some support or MSE will think, is it worth it? No one seems interested...? I think it is more like no one realises what it really will mean to them. Don't come to me crying when it all goes tots up.. :D I tried to warn you all.....

But I don't want to say that in this circumstance! Too much is at stake here - too many jobs could be on the line and a hell of alot of consumers paying far too much to get their cars repaired.........

  • I admire your commitment Jeannie, however i'm of the opinion that the EU dictatorship will do exactly as it wants in this as with most things..big business keeps them where they are now, in power exactly like in our once great country, and they won't do anything to upset the lucrative apple cart.

You could try giving this to Nick Griffin MEP to get his teeth into, whether you like or hate his politics doesn't matter a jot, he won't be swayed by the establishment, unlike most of the others.

I agree it's important, but i understand Goldies point of view too, these things tend to have their own levelling effects, those who buy cars because they look good/fashionable at the time will always pay through the nose because they don't do any research into ongoing costs/ problems, others who buy better (not always expensive and certainly not over time) will learn which way to jump quite quickly.

    keep it up though.

I'm not really sure why I have the commitment, I won't gain from it personally ... I just hate it when the big boys win and the consumers lose out - and yes, the EU probably do have it sorted, to a certain extent, but why oh why do we have to be so bl**dy British all the time and sit back and take it??? The complacency drives me up the wall! And a year down the line we will have all the moaning....

I've sent letters to our SEVEN Mep's - yes SEVEN!!! in our small area which I downloaded off the r2rc website. Who is this Nick Griffin? I've been looking for a 'big mouth' to draw this to the media's attention - MSE Martin is going to put something on here, and they are researching this issue, but he says its not one of his core issues, so won't get involved personally. I emailed Quentin Willson - nothing back so far. Any other ideas for big mouths??? I thought of the Top Gear lot - but they tend not to be political, just controversial!!

If you want to take your car to the dealership whilst it is under warranty for servicing and if you have diagnostic problems and are happy to go back to the dealerships to have the problem sorted and repaired. If you are happy not to have a choice where you take your car when you have a problem with it, then fine, ignore this thread.....
