DH has washed all of the windows, cleaned all of the bathrooms, and hoovered the entire house whilst I have sat around doing nothing. Feel really bad, but never mind. I want him to help more, but when he does, I just feel guilty!

We had McDs for lunch, but not that long ago. Not sure what we will do for dinner. I have kind of given up cooking, so might start using the stuff in the freezer that I batch cooked! Tumbledown Shepherds Pie sounds interesting.

Well just when i thought my sickness had left me for good it came back with avengance, had a crap day today, heartburn not helping either. Sorry:o i'm just feeling sorry for myself i'll stop whinging now.
Need to get myself some more maternity jeans, i got a pair from my catalogue 2weeks ago and they are now too tight:eek:. I wanted to send them back but they refused coz i'd taken the tag off, wouldnt care but they actually fit really well when i tried them on and seemed to have loads of growing space, maybe my they'll fit better once my bump has moved up a bit.
Enjoy your pizza gisi - your making me hungry now nomnomnom
Evansangel - on the pizza hut buffet front my midwife told me that most mayo type stuff bought i jars etc.. are safe to eat as they have been made from pasturised eggs its mainly homemade stuff like that you need to be careful of. Have a look on the Hipp website it also says about it there too. HTH

Csh i wouldn't be happy, in fact i'd refuse it i think, unless there was other reasons why it needed to be out of course. She's obviously not ready!

Out of interest, why do you think the doctor would suggest it though, if there wasn't some research somewhere which showed that the outcome for baby and mum is statistically better, than letting nature take its course?

I personally would ask questions about why they were recommending it, and if the reasons weren't compelling then I would discuss the risks of letting baby come when it was ready, but I would start with a completely open mind and certainly wouldn't be starting from the standpoint that I was going to refuse the intervention unless I could be convinced that it was necessary. It's come up here before I know, but why do so many pregnant women automatically mistrust the advice they are given?

I thought the issue with pizza hut buffet salads was more that food had been sitting out at room temperature for several hours, with an added risk of contamination from less hygienic diners . I have to confess that whilst I've been pregnant, the only thing I've had from the salad table has been things like whole cherry tomatoes, sweetcorn, cucumber, etc and I've given anything else a wide berth. Having said that I've been prone to hideous sickness throughout the pregnancy so have steered well clear of anything which might cause food poisoning more for my own sake than baby's :o

Nicki, there's some evidence that gestation of 42+ weeks is more likely to lead to stillbirth, and some trusts set the bar for induction early just in case the mum's dates and the scan weren't accurate. The perinatal mortality rate doubles at 42 weeks and triples at 43 weeks.

Something that's not really factored in though is that the key signal for labour to start is the baby having produced enough lung surfactant to be best at breathing. Therefore a baby might not be sending this signal because they are already unhealthy IYSWIM? I think this skews the statistics.

But I agree with you, there ought to be more patient consultation about it, and there are cases of women refusing intervention and giving birth to very healthy babies at 46 weeks :D

    Sorry to be Geeky:o

Hi, cannot possibly begin to catch up just now I must have missed sooooo much I haven't been able to come on for ages, please can someone do me a quick update just for now?

Well, I don't seem to have any time to do much atall at the mo, as some of you will know/may remember..a good friend of mine lost her husband suddenly at the end of last month, well things are awful for her and her little girls, she isn't coping very well and doesn't wanna be on her own so more or less every spare bit of time I have inbetween work and my own kids is spent with her, trying to help her deal with whats happening. Ontop of that Ive been in quite alot of discomfort with what midwife has said is SPD, been teary and very tired (possibly emotionally drained?!) Because of this the time I have had to myself Ive spent alot of it soaking in a nice hot bath then going to bed. I had my last day at work yesterday and thank god- I was soooo ready to go, I was in absolute agony, had to keep sitting down. I had like a ripping pain down the left side of my bump every little movement I made. I almost blacked out at one point. Also I was tired as had been up 2 hours the night before with awful braxton hicks, never had them so bad before that they woke me up during the night and making me feel sick too! So I was so glad to leave. Didn't even get a card from my work friends- thanks alot, so nice to feel appreciated!
I'm just not myself at the mo.
love my little man he is amazing :j
  • Hey ll,

Sorry for the silence for the last week. I`ve been struggling a bit with various things but I`m back now. Whoop whoop.
Today I had my half-nucual scan in Fareham. Everything is fine and baby is extremely active, I`ve popped a video on facebook for those who`d like to see.
