I am having doubts about having this baby at my local hospital, i don't know if i would be able to change as mw said something about once the paper work is done i have to stick to that hospital and the other hospital in the city requires different paper work
I've just been thinking about all the time they have let me down and i just chose there again because it was nearer. This hospital is about a 15-20 min drive but the city would be 45 mins in good traffic.
The main concern was my sons birth was awful in my mat notes it states first birth was very traumatic. But hopefully it will be different with me having a planned section. I know they have to consider every patient but there should be some leeway. When i was losing my heterotopic pregnancy in jan i was brought in at 3 am stuck on the ward losing my babies and hubby was sent home. I wasn't seen untill the next day and was expected to go to sleep after i had pain relief. Then while i was having treatment hubby was sent away again as it was dinner time. No one is allowed on the ward at meal times. I needed him there with me and felt so alone and in the dark about it all. Then i was having a reaction to the teatment and was being sick and again they sent hubby away because it was tea time.
I will have to have a chat with my MW to see what she says i don't know why i am thinking about it all really. This is my signature!0 -

.
I read in my pregnancy book that you can change hospital at any point during your pregnancy, then there were a few quotes from woman who have and one of them said she changed her hospital while she was in labour.
She literally turned up at the other hospital and gave birth.

elasti - there's a bit on Netmums (I think) where people put up reviews of their local hospital. Maybe read a few of those before making up your mind? Things might've changed since you had your son...top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Afternoon girls and bumps,
well, looks like I'm here for the long haul  Went to see midwife this morning, and bubs still hasn't started to engage. They did an internal exam and all that showed was that I am still 'unfavourable' for going into labour. So another appointment has been made for next week with them talking of booking induction then (potentially for as late as they can!!) Sooooo want to go naturally - any tips for getting this bubs to engage?
Plus they mentioned again that it's a 'good sized baby' - was told at scan at 36+3 that we're looking at between 8-8.5lbs so I'm hoping they're just not able to tell very well through the ample layer of maternal fat on top of the baby
Hope harley is doing well - nothing from her this morning?
Get on your bouncy ball!
Something worked for me - maybe try the EPO or sex. As soon as I upped my EPO to 2 a day and got jiggy with OH (after a 3 week break from it) and had spicy food 3 nights in a row I went into labour.
Not sure if it would work for everyone but somethign must have worked especially as I went 3 weeks early so wasn't like I was term or anything!
Labour vibes to those that need them!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -

Cause im taking all my holiday between 20/11 and 20/12 and then am due to go on ML on 20/12.
But i read somewhere that they work out your SMP based on your wages between certain weeks
I may or may not get paid my usual hours in holiday pay, because i haven't averaged out 40 hours a week over the past year
Found this:
http://www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/specialist-guides/technical-guidance/ni17a-a-guide-to-maternity/statutory-maternity-pay-smp/eligibility/
Working out your average weekly earnings
Your employer must work out your average weekly earnings to find out whether or not you qualify for SMP and, if so, at what rate. As a general rule, your earnings will be averaged over a period of at least 8 weeks up to and including the last pay day before the end of the qualifying week. But the calculation may differ from this, depending on your pay period.
For SMP purposes, 'pay' means gross pay that is due before any deductions. The gross pay you get from your employer in the relevant period will be taken into account, as long as it counts for NI contributions (or would count if you earned enough or were old enough to pay NI contributions).
Sick pay, overtime, bonus payments, arrears of pay and even, in most circumstances, holiday pay, must all be included if you actually get them at this time. It is when you get the money that counts, not when it was earned.0 -
Good god, I do not know what the bellyferret is doing today, but it seems to involve poking/pinching my inside bits low down in my pelvis and it hurts!!!!
She has definately moved lower down in me as had to get up 5 times to pee last night as opposed to the usual once or twice, so been on the caffeinated drinks today to try and wake up, might be why she is quite active also....ouch!0 -

I used an angelsounds doppler and found the heartbeat at 12 weeks or so, but it was also very low down in my pelvis, right down near the bone.
Also felt actual movements at about 19 weeks (before that anything felt like it could be bowels/wind!) and this is my first. Feel like a punch bag now!0
