  • Afternoon girls and bumps,

well, looks like I'm here for the long haul  Went to see midwife this morning, and bubs still hasn't started to engage. They did an internal exam and all that showed was that I am still 'unfavourable' for going into labour. So another appointment has been made for next week with them talking of booking induction then (potentially for as late as they can!!) Sooooo want to go naturally - any tips for getting this bubs to engage?

Plus they mentioned again that it's a 'good sized baby' - was told at scan at 36+3 that we're looking at between 8-8.5lbs so I'm hoping they're just not able to tell very well through the ample layer of maternal fat on top of the baby :o

Hope harley is doing well - nothing from her this morning?
  • Weird how a midwife can tell you one thing then a antenatal class tells you another lol

Well I dont know what to do now, I used to shower every morning, but now I have a bath everynight, Ive really fancied them since I got pregnant and the showers in the morning actually made me feel a bit sick, along with my normal morning sickness, now I dont have morning sickness anymore I wonder of I can go back to showering in the morning.

BUT I love my bath lol it relaxes me on a nighttime :(

  • Can you not do both? :D

Have a shower in the morning to refresh you and wake you up, then bath in the evening to relax you and send you off to sleep? :D

  • I've had loads of baths, Kindof, just not quite as hot as usual. I think the risk is that it can make you go light-headed so if you're not suffering with that then it should be okay.

I do love my morning shower though, I was thinking that this morning as i stood under the water. I'm hoping I can put baby in his bouncer while I shower in the mornings if OH is at work as I'd be sad not to be able to shower!

Sorry hun, still here too. We can keep each other company.

Nothing really exciting to say for myself today and mum and dad are coming up in a bit so having a quick tidy round. Damn cold seems to have got worse since blubbing at the This Morning article about the premmie baby. Was so sad, had to turn it over in the end.

I really wanted one to, and i asked OH and he said the same thing as your OH. So i got it anyway :D

I was told that if you have a bath to hot then it essentially boils the baby and causes a miscarriage  A friend told me that not a MW.
Something about the baby always being 1degree hotter then you or something
Im really worried about my scan, dont know why. Its the same fear i felt before my 12 week scan, but less fearful :)
I know im fine as im growing, but i still worry :o x

Really really really sorry ladies for posting and running but I know we have some finance gurus on here and I was wondering if you could help...

I have worked out my entitlement to SMP so know what my gross pay will be but does anyone have any links / spreadsheets they could send to a cumulative net pay calculator as I am a currently paying tax at 40% but I'll be way under the threshold by January and I am trying to work out what my net pay will be for the next few months - after all this is really what matters isn't it?!!!

Boss is back from his hols today :(:( so I think I'll be keeping a low profile in the day time from now but will try and catch up with you all this evening, and every evening.

    Miserable always

I have used this calculator but I still have trouble trying to work anything out! I wanted to work out what I would save using the childcare voucher scheme but it's too complicated for my pregnant brain.
