Has anyone got any experience of using olbas oil while pregnant? I've had an awful cold this week so had some on piillow at night. (couldn't see anything on the packaging but I've had the bottle a while and have lost leaflet!)
I've just been googling it and found that it should be avoided as the three oils that are in it (pine, eucalyptus and something else!) are thought to be dangerous in pregnancy. In another thread I;ve found someone who's doctor reccommended that she take it.
Hope Jenny's getting on wellMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
No idea Gill but when i was full of cold i used vapour rub even though it said on the box to ask pharmacist. I figured it was okay for babies as per advert so it's okay for me lol.0

Everything i've just read says it's fine, apart from one website which appears to not really know at all and sounds like it's just guessing lol.0

Moooooorning,
Ooh Jenny hope you're now with your little one or well on the way there& it's all as uncomplicated and painless as possible
Fattybooboo hope your little dog is on better form today, lots of doggy cuddles in order I thinkI know the feeling all too well though, you may remember my cat disappearing a few weeks ago and the state I was in! The older of the two now seems to have developed some sort of weakening in one of her legs that needs seeing to...all I can say is if we love our pets so fiercly, we've got some very lucky babies!!!
Gill I've been using Olbas oil these last few nights, never thought to check...just had a quick scan online and seems fine, if you're to do anything with it inhaling a small amount is probably a lot safer than bathing in it, massaging with it etc
Well I'm excited to say I feel OK! Woo hoo, 6 days of being sick and all I have left is a slightly fuzzy head and a bit of a cough, thank goodness for thatBaby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
Morning all,
exciting on here last night, hope everything has progressed nicely for jenny x
At work this week the pharmacist were asked about colds and flus, they both recommended vicks so that should be fine to use. They said if you use the vicks in some warm water with towel over head for steam inhalation it'll be more effective than just rubbing it on the chest. They didnt mention olbas oil so I dont know sorry.
Am keeping the kids home again today, which means they have had nearly a week off right before half term, but at least they should be well next week and so we can get out more and do something.

Fidget - just wanted to say you are an amazing lady. After 3 days of continous pelvic pain i am finished. i didnt realise the pain etc associated with spd / pgp was so severe and debilitating and i am not even at the stage of crutches yet. Sending you huge hugs and labour vibes
Huge labour vibes to jenny and nancmat, Lizziebell*80, Helen, Karen1907 and GISI
Well they think i have spd or pgp - had a 28 week appt today - for those that are worrying about antid - i didnt feel the needle and my arm is fine and i didnt feel unwell at all after.
the pelvic pain is so bad - either sitting, standing, lying down, on all fours etc and the killer is that it is 24 hr and paracetamol dosent have any effect at all. It is by far the worst pregnancy symptom (excluding probs like hypermesis / previa etc). I will get referred to physio at next appt - they dont think the back to back (ish) oblique fetal lie is helping at all. It will be a cesearan for me unless this baby turns - but there is plenty of time left for that.
MW did say though i should have been doing 1/2 hr a day on hands and knees since week 20. I thaught i had been very proactive doing hands and knees work bouncing on my ball etc - but not enough
Hugs to beenie, three and princess and anyone else that would like one
and sticky bean vibes to all that need them
Might be a bit quiet but will try to catch up
Ooo jenny easy labour vibes to you
Sorry you aer having a hard time

Ahh how lovely Kindof
Rant away btw - no sleep is rubbish! I've started to get heartburn at bedtime too, it's horrendous! In a bid to stop the moaning, OH agreed to watch Bridget Jones in bed with me last night, I love both of the films and could watch them a million times without getting bored
One for the weekend will be The Holiday, the one with Kate Winslet & Cameron Diaz swapping lives over Christmas...OH will even admit to loving that one
Merfe hope the kids are a bit better today? & that all goes well with the midwife this aft
Debating what to eat - english muffins with bacon & cheese, yoghurt, cereal, porridge...the list is endless!Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -
