Morning all, thanks for the kind words. Hopefully work will start to get better soon. I just feel a bit like a punchbag as I've been handed over a project to house almost 30 nurses in fully furnished properties with less then 4 weeks notice and sort out all of their paperwork so that they can be employed and get paid and they all started work yesterday. I had managed to house all of them, some closer to work then others, but our existing nurses who line manage them have basically been saying all along that my department, or me and my manager who are the only ones dealing with it, have not done anything right, and have basically told the new nurses that any complaints they have about their accommodation need to come to me. So I was surrounded by irate nurses complaining about having to catch a bus to work or wardrobes weren't big enough etc.

I have had no support from the departments I have done all of this work for at all, and yesterday when I asked them for some support I was told not interested, it's a HR issue, even though I know most of the issues that were created yesterday were created by the existing staff (who should be line managing them) stirring up everything.

Now sitting at my desk fighting the urge to cry again as I really don't want to be here. Will no doubt have the same kind of treatment for the next week, although my HR Director is furious and raising this issue at board level (which is really nice and shows that I have done my best and a lot more then I should have done) it doesn't make me feel any better just yet.

maybe it's just hormones but at the minute I really feel like I could happily walk away from my job and never come back.

PP- sorry ur landlord was being an a.ss, glad u r nearly there

MrsI- I sympathise as my docs can be a bit like that, hence the wrong prescription being given out (sent in the post one week after an appt!) twice before getting an adequate dose from the hospital

Hope everyone else is OK, appropriate vibes to all.

Must try and motivate myself now to get on with work, it will make the day go quicker if I keep busy and don't dwell

thanks everybody for kind words will update later when been hospital ,but think we are going to have amnio test done .

jopsey - first of all hugs.

I did think about pm'ing you but someone else might find this useful / supportive too one day. I am not 100% sure what a quad test is but it sounds very much the same as the combined test I had at 12/13 weeks (background risk, NT scan and bloods). I was given a risk of 1:63, the background was 1:321 (I was the ripe old age of 35 at this point), the NT 1:1607 but the bloods really messed it up at 1:11. Do you know / could you ask for a breakdown of what the various risks are as this could help with your decision and amnio may not be the only option (sorry couldn;t see how many weeks you are). Don't worry one bit about taking up time on your appointment to talk through everything, if something isn't clear, ask ask and ask again - yes, everyone, we all know its bldy annoying when you are waiting for a late appointment but it is quite likely that the person before you really needed that time / support at a time like this. Our consultant went through the options of cvs now, amnio later after the 20 week scan or nothing - we had a very short window for the cvs as was 13+ by this point. Because it was the bloods and only one part of them (papp-a) that was "abnormal", while this was indicative of chromosonal problems, it also is linked to placental function and given the other risks the consultant was inclined to think it was in my case the latter but obviously couldn't guarantee it without invasive testing - this really helped us make our decision of waiting for the 20 week anomaly scan and decide on amnio or not at that point. No one can decide that for you but it may not be your only choice. We decided not to and I still don't know at 34 weeks if 100% there are no chromosonal problems - all the scans seem to indicate not and that 1:63 risk means that we have 62:63 chance or over 98% chance of there being no chromosonal problems at all. I hope you managed to get some sleep -4am is a bleak time of the day when it's a rough time. I hope that some of this helps and your appointment helps you.

Gymfiend- can't wait to hear about the scan!

Kindof- I would offer to print for you but my printer is very temperamental so I'm not sure it would produce a copy that the shop would accept! I must get it sorted actually as it's a pain in the butt!

    Congratulations EA on Team Pink!:j

Hugs and labour vibes to those that need them at the mo.

I'm getting a little fed up with the morning sickness now. I've started delaying getting up in the morning in the hope that if I'm going to be sick I do it before I have a shower so that I can still make myself feel human afterwards. Yesterday was the worst yet. I didn't keep anything down until 8pm and I had an afternoon/evening of doing home visits and I came so close to throwing up in a students house. Up till now it's literally been morning sickness. Hoping I'm not as bad today as I have more home visits to do after 3pm. I really don't want to have to take time off, mainly cos I don't get paid if I don't teach but also cos I will feel like I need to explain the reason and I'm really hoping to leave telling students until xmas to try and reduce the impact on my business.

Good luck Gymfiend for you scan!

kindof - the printer I always use is in the office so can't help with the printing, mmm, does make me wonder if we do actually go and need to buy a new one as won't be back there for sometime!!!

gemma - oh how I empathise with you about work, my last few weeks weren't great, some of that was my performance admittedly as my mind was all over the place but even so. It will be over before you know it and even on my first day of ML yesterday I was thinking I need to start looking at the local job situation and I've still got pay & SMP to come from the job I am on ML from!

todays mission - ironing. only seems fair that as OH is at work, I should iron his workshirts.

Or maybe interwebs shopping - found a £30 tesco gift card I'd forgotten about, I think I might be buying baby bedding....much more fun than ironing!

good luck at the scan gymfiend

muso hope it passes soon for you, I had awful morning sickness with my first pregnancy, was morning noon and night (yes i did wake in the night to be sick a few times). I've not had it with any pregnancy since then thankfully because I couldnt move off the sofa without being sick.

Gemma I hope your work gets better soon. I'm supposed to be training at work but I cannot be bothered and just cant concentrate on it at the moment. I really just feel like leaving, i'm not well and should be resting in the evenings not going to work but since I was off last week I know i'd be really letting them down. I like the people i work with i just think me coughing all over the customers isnt leaving a very good impression.
