  • Firstly I am after sympathy because I was sick this morning - which after going to week 17 with morning sickness I feel that I have already had my fair share. At week 38 i should not have it anymore and am now worried that I will get it again until Jr arrives. What was worse was that I wasn't prepared and had to clean it up off the carpet (sorry for TMI) plus i was already late going to a baby care, batthing and breastfeeding demonstration, so not a good start to the day. Have come home and am in bed.

Had awful night last night felt like Jr was trying to get out through my belly button - ouch. Thought for a bit I was starting labour. Then thought if this is causing pain what is labour going to be like BIG OUCH.

Then when that had stopped my legs were just feeling so achy, I ended up getting up and moving around too try and sort them out. Really strange went back to bed and put pillow between my legs (not really been doing this too much as have been sleeping ok without one).

  • Ah Kindof - what are parents like eh? I shouldn't feel too bad asking for a contribution towards petrol especially given your current circumstances. You coul just say what with baby on the way you are trying to tighten your budget but it would help if she could contribute a bit towards the petrol which you wouldn't be using otherwise. Fingers crossed she can move closer to you soon - sounds like that will sort out a lot of the problem. Its never easy though is it.
    xx

  • Aww kindof that's rubbish. I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it, but a shame still. I'll send a fluffy cupcake your way! It is so annoying when you do a lot for someone and they don't seem to appreciate it.
  • Sarah - can you send me a cupcake, please? Do you ever post them? Or is it mainly for big dos?

  • I don't really tend to post them usually however I will send you a PM!

I do mainly weddings however I also do birthday cakes, and indivudual smaller orders sometimes.

hiya, me and you sound like we had the exact same experience at the mo, I've had random days of feeling really rough, vomiting (only once though) and strange sensations in limbs. We are due within a few days of each other so not long to go now eh! I'm having a good day today so can promise for the pooh day you've had you will have good ones too before the end. :D
  • Gorgeous Cakes SJ!!! I wish I could decorate like that, can make good cakes just can't make them look good like that :( Guess I've got the foundations to practise on though.

lou - sorry to butt in but to save boogelly the trouble, I actually saved Glam's post in an e-mail. Remember she was going to be induced at 38 weeks so I'd keep that in mind when reading dates:
Well, this is my proposed plan of action - the calcium is supposed to be a pain reliever. EPO to help soften cervix, RLT is to help womb contract so quick second stage and to help contract back after birth. Arnica cream to apply to my lady bits afterwards to soothe them!

Calcium in weeks before labour 1,000mg a day see below with new RDA
Calcium at onset of labour 2,000 mg
    EPO 1-2 500mg from week 34 to week 37
    3-4 500mg during week 38
Insert 1 capsule each night from week 34

RLT 1 cup from Week 32 to Week 33
    2 cups Week 34 to Week 35
    3 cups in Week 36
    4 cups in week 37 and 38
TOTAL = 6 boxes of 20 tea bags

Arnica Cream For application after birth decided on arnica tablets instead see doses below

one of those sites links to this dosage for calcium
    http://www.herbs2000.com/minerals/calcium.htm
which says average RDA for pregnant woman is 1,200mg (so 2 tabs for me) and then I'll double up to 2,000mg at onset of labour like Weezl's link says.

just been researching dosage of Arnica tabs so plan to take
    Arnica Tabs 30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 3 days before
30c 2 tablets every 2 hours – up to 6 doses on day of labour
    30c 2 tablets 3 times a day – 5 days after
There are doses for 'acute cases' - such as accidents, operations and things and then a lower dose for a few days after the acute case. It treats shock as well as the bruising which is good.

    Sorry, lost the formatting there.

  • Thanks, I just really enjoy it! I've never thought of myself as being very creative but I guess I just hadn't found the right outlet.

It will be good though if I can do this full time and give up my cr appy, low paid, soul destroying office job.
  • Hi everyone,
Gemma - Sorry you're having a hard time at work, I totally sympathise - I'm getting all sorts of rubbish being pointed in my direction at the moment too.
I think someone mentioned still suffering from morning sickness at 14 and a half weeks? I'm 14 weeks today, and just managed to lose my lunch literally seconds after finishing it. Hate to come to this conclusion, but think I might be having a stupid baby who can't count (just joking by the way!). Baby, 12 weeks - that's meant to be all the suffering done!!! I forgot my purse too today, which means I'm going to be starving later...
Oh well - hope everyone's ok, I'll try and pop in again later.
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)
