boogelly, wow i should stop my moaning then cos you're 4 weeks ahead of me lol!! :o

I've stripped off all the paper so far and that's about it. Next is glossing (:() and ceiling, then i can finally paint the walls!!

Gonna have to nip out for some paintbrushes though since the moronic ex seems to have done something with them and i've searched high and low  Went for a lie on my bed to catch a bit of Eastenders after i got the last of the paper off and i felt like my whole body had siezed up :rotfl:

PP - what a carry on :( Hope you get it all sorted soon, wish there was something i could do to help :(

  • I think I've probably had more evenings out since I've been in ML than I have in the past year! I've really enjoyed going out with friends, but totally know what you mean about feeling hungover. It just goes to show that a big part of a hangover is tiredness!

I've managed to cram all mine in to a big holdall, plus baby's stuff in the changing bag. I think the problem is that a lot of the stuff is quite bulky so there's no real way to reduce it. I think the towels and dressing gown take up most of the room.

Yes ur right about the bulky stuff, I have got 1 bath towel and 1 more hand sized towel, plus my dressing gown, even though its a lightweight one it still folds up thick. On top of that, the 2 packs of mat pads take up quite a bit of space. Think I might try it all in my next sized up holdall roller bag thing as at least it shouldnt be a total squish then. I am rubbish at packing light at the best of times!!

Hmm, just looked online and it shows upto 42D. I thought Id seen a couple larger than that but cant remember the sizes, sorry ladies.

Im sure I'll regret painting tomorrow but it really needed doing. We've had the paint for ages but not got around to it so I thought if I started doing all the cutting in at the edges OH can do the rollering. I get a bit carried away though and go a bit further into the centre of the walls :rotfl: And the tiles (and me!) now have quite a lot of paint on too.

Not sure why I picked painting today, there are a million other things that need doing too which are probably more important but Ive picked this today for some reason

Two more weeks in work then I can start to relax a bit, Im hoping if I just keep going trying to get little bits done now I can concentrate on just me when I finish. I do wish Id started my leave already but I really need the extra bonus from this month.

Boo please post your list of what you've packed so I can check it against mine, I think of you as my almost due date buddy! I packed my bag the other night and agree there's far too much stuff! Ive got a holdall for me and my baby changing bag but still need to put my clothes, towels and toiletries in and their both full. Might swap everything to a little wheely suitcase and if we've forgotten anything my parents will have to bring it in.

  • Right just got off the phone im gonna write it all down before i forget :rotfl:

With regards to moving in and the two tenancies im to tell him that i took the second tenancy on in good faith that the house would be in reasonable condition by the 19th. He has failed to do that so i am entitled to ask him for a rent abatement (i think thats the word he used) to cover the days that i am unable to live there and as compensation for any damages that have been caused for example stress, childcare, cost of van etc. To continue paying the rent on this property on pro rata (daily rate) until the new house is habitable. If he doesnt agree to this then i should take him to the small claims court.

He also has to abide by i think it was the care of goods act by which he has to take the tenants stuff out of the property and care of it as if it was his or her own goods unless he has written permission to dispose of it from the previous tenant, but it all has to be removed before i move into the property and should not be left for me to deal with.

With regards to the deposit because he verbally described it to me as a deposit when i viewed the property (and i had a friend here with me who heard him say it) despite the fact that he has put £0 deposit on the tenancy me saying that he said it verbally would stand up in court because it sounds like he is going out of his way to avoid putting the deposit into protection, and the courts could make him pay back up to 3 times my deposit.

that is true PP , if he does not put deposit into scheme , when you move out you can claim 3 times your deposit , i bet he is trying to get away with it , i am so glad you have called shelter ,,

now wether it be sunday or monday call him and tell exactly what shelter told you , he can not do anything about it ,as it is all the law ,,

good luck , and am pleased you have more information ,
