What a nightmare PP, glad you managed to cancel the van without having to pay though :)

OH bought me some Phish Food & Cookie Dough, ate half the Phish Food already, whoops!!

Can you tell me if I'm being unreasonable please? OH just told me his family are going skiing in Jan, didn't state he was going too but quite obvious from the way he didn't say he wasn't that he wanted to. I said do what you want, if the baby arrives early then it'll be your loss. Now he's backtracking saying he isn't going to go etc, but making me feel bad like I'm stopping him?! Is it totally unreasonable to think that his going away & using the last of his holiday entitlement (i.e. no time off between now & then to decorate nursery) 5/6 weeks before baby is due, is not fair?

One thing on the tour they told us about towels - do bring your own as hospital ones are crap but make sure they are a dark colour so don't get mixed in with hospital washing. Also, at our hospital pillows "are like gold dust" (lol, direct quote!) so bring 1 or 2 also with dark pillowcases so don't get mixed in.

Your list sounds fab! Though I wouldn't skip the handheld fan b/c our hospital is boiling and I think the heat + labour would make me feel ill. I'm trying to think of what kind of bag to take...sounds like you've got a wheely carry-on style piece of luggage, right (hard sides)? That's what I was thinking as any of our other bags are either too small or too big. At a loss at how many maternity briefs/pads to acquire, honestly...

gymfiend - you are not being unreasonable at all! What would happen if he breaks his leg while skiing? he's not going to be much use to you then! Also what if you're poorly near the end, who's going to look after you and bump? Surely he should be saving holiday allowance for after the baby is born as well to spend time with you both.

My DH wanted to go on a stag do building a raft and sailing down a river a fortnight before our wedding! I pointed out to him that any injury be it a broken arm or black eye would look awful in the pics! He was a bit gutted but decided not to go. When the time came round and we had so much going on he was soooo relieved that he didn't. I'm sure this will be the same for your OH.

That is not at all unreasonable, gymfiend. I wouldn't have wanted my OH to be away during the last month or so at all. I also know that my family would have been pretty peed off with him if he'd gone away so close to baby's due date! Stick to your guns!

I think of all of us early November people as due date buddies! Helen, Nanc and Jenny are the late October ones who can come back and tell us how it is done :D.

All this talk of Ben and Jerry's has reminded me that I have a tub of Chunky Monkey in the freezer. I'm not having it tonight though as it's crumble all the way for pud.
