Karen this is my first too, Ive bought a big nightie that buttons quite far down and was planning on unbuttoning it and tucking baby inside sort of so she gets skin to skin and can attempt to latch on and feed too.

Im 36+1 today and agree the time has dissapeared, im sure its only a fortnight ago I was sat on my stairs dumbfounded with my BFP completely unable to speak until OH came home :rotfl:

Karen, I wore a button down nighty which I just unbuttoned and tucked DD inside and I gave her her first feed. To be completly honest with you the amount of people that saw my bits when I was giving birth (DD was in distress so the midwife pushed the panic button and 11 people suddenly appeared lol) I was passed caring who saw what lol.

  • I know what you mean about time flying!

Had a waddle into town and got the battery for my Tens and also a pedal bin for the nursery so that was quite productive really!

I can't believe you're decorating Boogellyboo! It's all I can do to hang the washing out!

Sending big labour vibes to Jenny (and Karen if you would like them).

  • Im so angry

Right got the keys for the house last night and was told the previous tenant was round there at that moment clearing the last of the stuff out and cleaning it. Was told i could go round this morning to check on it.

Left here about 10ish and went to the shop first got a phone call from the landlord while in the shop telling me that the previous tenant had just rang him and she was going round the house this morning to clear out the last of it??????

He asked me to leave it a couple of hours before going round there which i did do left here about 12ish walked in the house and it is filthy!!!! from top to bottom it is disgusting! there is still stuff everywhere and stuff shoved into cupboards to make it look like it has been cleared there is thick and i mean thick grease on the cooker inside and on the top i was physically sick at the sight of it :o

When i spoke to him last night i did say to him that i wasnt happy about it being left this late because if it was still in a state then i wouldnt be able to move in on monday he assured me that she had assured him it would be sorted out.

So i rang him while i was at the house and told him about the state that it was in his response was 'i dont appreciate this off of you on a sunday last week you said you were quite happy to sort it out yourself'

Right so im sat here and im thinking this was last wednesday that i said this i could have got people round there to help me between weds evening and mon morning and it would have been done, but the previous tenant was adamant that she was going to do it n he said he trusted her to do it!!!! How the hell am i supposed to clean it all on my own at this late stage when in 24 hours time i should have all of my stuff in the house??????

He has said he will go round there tomorrow with some cleaners and get it cleaned up tomorrow so i can move in on tuesday, but this now means me cancelling the van, telling my friend i dont need her to babysit anymore and then struggling to move all on my own because my friends that were going to help me to move are both working on tuesday and they booked tomorrow off to help me im so angry with him if he was gonna do this to me why the hell didnt he just give me the keys on weds n i could have done it myself at least then i know it would have been done !!!!!! :(

I dont know if the bloke with the van is going to charge me for cancelling on him so late  I dont even know when to rearrange it for because its going to mean waiting for people to be able to get the time off work.

It was him that suggested all the way along for me to move in on the 19th he told me she was moving out on the 14th, which he then changed to her tenancy is stil valid until the 18th

Oh and to top it all off i ran out of nappies for DD2 this morning went to the shop to get some and have now been to all 3 shops that are open locally and none of them have got anything over a size 3 which there is noway they are going to go round her big bum :rotfl: We have had 2 accidents already god knows what im going to do when it comes to bedtime tonight i cant even go any further to try and get any because there is no trains running today

Im so stressed at the moment i cant stop crying i hate hormones :(

 on your behalf PP :wall:

just what you don't need. I am sure if we all lived close together you would have a lot of MSE ladies ready to pitch in and help you. I'd be there if you lived in Norfolk.

Dodgy hugs to you and keep thinking positive.:grouphug:

PP , i am so sorry to hear , but yet again this all comes down to not taking a deposit , if he had a deposit , the previous tenant would of made sure they would get it back by making sure the property was spotless, but now they dont give a damn , and its all left to you to do it, with everything going on you really dont need this, i dont know what to suggest , maybe chat with shelter tomorrow and find out where you stand , i think seriously chat with shelter and find out if he can really do this , along with the deposit problems too
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec
  • What a nightmare, PP!

Is there anyway you can round some family and friends up today to get the house clean enough for you to move into tomorrow, then do the rest of it once you're in? Just seems such a shame to not be able to move tomorrow once you got everything set up.

For your DD could you fashion some kind of washable nappy out of a towel or tea towel and cotton wool?! Sorry if that is a stupid suggestion, but I'm no expert!!!! Or could you ask a friendly neighbour to borrow a couple of nappies till tomorrow?

Loving all the discussions of Welsh names! DH & I are really big on Irish names personally as we both have quite traditional Welsh names by pure chance (he's English & I'm American but people are always asking us if we're Welsh!) and having kids with Welsh names would create loads of confusion, lol :p.

Aww PP big hugs...won't say told you so but this landlord doesn't sound v good on top of the whole dodgy dealings with deposits. I'd be wary even if you trust him. Hope you can get van and stuff re-sorted though!

Sounds like I need to get some button-down nighties! Well I knew I did anyway but wasn't really sure what I wanted for laboring/after birth. I plan on being in the water so prolly laboring in a nursing bra or something, hmmmmmm. Where HAS the time gone? Huge labour vibes for all those who need them!!! Not been a birth for a while, so once one of you goes I think you all will :D

I've just started looking at travel systems, hoping to get one around the £100 - £150 price mark, but all the ones I've looked at so far seem to have rear facing car seats?

Could anyone suggest any with a front facing seat?
