Oooh just had fish and chips for tea and got some immense pains going on in the bump, just sharp and not constant
Methinks baby doesn't appreciate being squashed by the over-indulgence of greasy grub

Thanks Helen!
Weezl I haven't predicted by anything other than guesswork what size nappies we might need. Bought what I think is about 2 weeks' worth of size 1's and then some size 2's. Am hoping if I have any extra packs in small sizes I can swap them - think someone said on here that asda will exchange unopened packs without a reciept. If not I guess I'll keep them for the next one:eek:

Ah! Taking them back makes sense SJ, thanks
I had my 16 week appt today, just BP and wee, and nothing now til 5th Jan (with her, I do have my anomaly scan in 4 weeks)
Seems really different from first time PG when I felt I had lots of ante-natal visits!

Well i'm sitting waiting on OH and DS getting back from the hospital not to see sister but to visit A&E. DS fell down a hill and landed in glass resulting in a lovely deep gash to his finger so as i came in they left and i don't think i will make it to visiting tonight.
Off to sort out DD be back later hugs to all.
No idea with the nappies i just bought as i needed before![STRIKE]Little bump 3 on it's way[/STRIKE]:j

Hiya, woah very busy lot you are today and so many of you posting - so hard to keep up!
Labour vibes cheapskate and anyone else who wants them! I don't want any til gone Friday now! My mispriced mattress from the grabbit board is finally coming on fri (ordered early sept). Then I will no longer have to endure the horrible earthquake that comes with OH's every movement with the one we currently have. I'm so excited! Aren't I sad? I hope my waters don't go on it on the first night!
Had a lazy day watching come dine with me with OH. No back ache for me nancmat, even the period type pains I was having have eased off. Not feeling too bad actually.
Ooh mind if I wade into the subject of bereavement? I lost my dad a few years ago (so no longer raw like you Helen and Aless). Whoever said it comes back and bites you when you least expect it was so right. Usually when you are out walking and you see a grandparent and grandchild together and you realise how much the one you lost and your little one would have loved each other. It seems so unfair. I still get that now so I can imagine the emotion being so much more for those of you who have lost family members recently. My due date is the day after my dad's birthday but I think I'll be using his name for LO's middle name whatever day he comes.
Trying to post from my phone again so hope this makes sense! Hope you're all having a good day and hugs to those who aren't x0 -
weezle - I kind of know how you are feeling - i had an amazing admin job at the uni 5 years ago - i was really on my way up - bit after 6 years of working under a nightmare manager i couldnt take it anymore. I felt very rubbish and havent worked since (except cleaning). I went from earning 16k to nothing - but i am happy being a housewife and mum to be now so it does get easier
sending ***Come on fergie get those toothypegs through with out pain vibes***
Awwwwglad it's all ok now. We have lots more in common than our city then?!
Someone asked if we could get 4d scans in Cardiff, was it you? My pal had one at Llandough so I know it's possible
Thanks for Fergie's pain free vibes

Gosh! I've only used 4 packs of wipes and Fergus is 7 and a half months old
Happy 16 week appt
I have an almost 3yr old too that loves getting messy so i can never have too many wipes, especially while were out and about. I'm also trying go guesstimate how many size of each nappies to get, its so hard as every baby is different. With my ds i only bought 4 packs of newborn but needed more then he stayed in the next size for longer than expected too:rolleyes:
Gisi - i'm needing to keep expenses down too for when bubs is born i'm no longer working, hence getting as much stuff as i can now, i've just found another 2 vouchers for money off newborn nappies yay.
I've got 2 friends that are pg and they both think i'm bonkers for wanting to stock up so much they cant see the need for it, i think they're bonkers for not taking advantage of there money off vouchers and freebies coupons;)£387.39/£196.46

Weezl sorry if i've missed something/am being thick, but what's happened with work?
SJ I'm really frightened of having a big baby, I was 8.11, bro was 9.2...and my mum's tiny  But I guess what will be will be!
Just eaten the largest mound of pasta ever...followed by a cornetteGonna put the bath on in a mo and read my book then get into bed with my cats
Suppose that's the one perk of OH being away, fur babies can get in with me!
Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -

Sounds like the wipes will come in very handy thenI've nowt against them. Was just wondering if I was doing something wrong with the amount of wiping we do :rotfl:

Ah sorry, I posted on the parent thread and JHA consoled me.
Basically A new manager has come into post while I've been off, and has made life really financially difficult for me. Her decision to not grant 4 more KIT days than she was inclined to has probably cost us between 6-8 thousand pounds of maternity benefits next year. She says there was no business case to do it. It would have cost her 400 quid and the amount of bad feeling she'll now have to deal with let alone if I leave and she then has all the recruitment costs just makes it seems to me like a crazy decision.
Also makes me feel very undervalued by my employer
Sorry- bet you wish you hadn't asked now!
PS... having been a biggish baby is only a birth issue if it puts you in a risk category for shoulder dystocia, and that's normally for women who were a first-born and weighed more than 10lb. There's apparently no evidence that women report more or less pain in births varying hugely in weights. I really hope that's reassuring
