One vet visit and £67 later we're back! Fur ball was quite well behaved for a change, he has now had his booster for the year and we have a 3 month suply of wormer/flea stuff. He is also booked in for castration in 2 weeks time, I do feel sorry for him, but with bubs on the way and he isn't getting younger (7 last month) its for the best really. Just means we have to take £120 from our baby savings account to get it done :( On the plus though I finally got paid by army cadets (only 3 and a bit mnonths late), so was up a few quid this month hehe.
Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpuls

Evening all, been using my freebie vouchers to start getting nappies and wipes etc... For those of you stocking up how many packs of wipes, packs of nappies and toiletries are you all getting? So far i have 36 packs of wipes (the boxes on offer from morrisons for £7) and 3 pack of newborn nappies 2 of which were free and one (pampers) cost 33p. I'm trying to have enough stocked up to last me through the first year. I did this with my first but tbh i cant remember how many packs of stuff i bought:rolleyes:

Not sure how many I've got- quite a few though. I'll go and have a count in a minute. I've been buying a pack of nappies with my 'big' shop for a while so we don't have the expense of it for a while whilst I'm on Mat Leave. I bought a pack of Huggies and a pack of Pampers for a third off in Sainsburys and used some money off vouchers too so that was quite :money:.

We have got 12 packs of wipes and 6 packs of nappies - but i am going on to reusable nappies and bio degradable liners, nappy bags and wipes after the first few weeks - hopefully:eek:

Weezl - what do you use - reusables? I asked after you and fergus this morning on this thread are you both ok?

I'm not sure how you go about stockpiling nappies before the birth, but I have thought about it. I bought the next 8 months worth when Ferg was 3 months old using his centile chart to calculate how many he'd need of each type. So far minimal waste (2 nappies are too small and need keeping for new baby). But wondered if any of you clever types have thought of a way to predict demand before they're born? :o:confused::D

sorry I did see and meant to reply!:A

I'm still sad about work. I hadn't realise how much of my feelings of what I'm 'worth' as a person come from being valued in my job. The current situation has really thrown me and I feel quite shaky and sad.

Fergie's good, but his third and 4th teeth are visible but not yet erupted. Calpol and teeting gel have been administered! He's been in a bit of pain this morning, poor thing.

wipes-wise we used cotton wool for a bit as it's greener than wipes, only bought one bag tho. Discovered that a ball is the same money as a whole wipe  so thought that wasn't very :money:. So now I have made reusable wipes from old cut up towels. Seems to be ok so far, no rashes!

SJ- Apparantly bigger babies are alot easier to give birth to..think it's to do with gravity, they come down the birth canal easier. My MW told me this and my son weighed 8lb 13.5 when he was born and I had no problems during labour/birth. Don't worry- whatever will be will be xx
love my little man he is amazing :j

weezle - I kind of know how you are feeling - i had an amazing admin job at the uni 5 years ago - i was really on my way up - bit after 6 years of working under a nightmare manager i couldnt take it anymore. I felt very rubbish and havent worked since (except cleaning). I went from earning 16k to nothing - but i am happy being a housewife and mum to be now so it does get easier
