CB my DS is Cameron and i don't really like to shorten it to Cam so when he's in trouble he gets first name & surname :D

The irony is that I picked dd1's name so that it couldn't be shortened :o guess who it was that did shorten it?! (I love Cameron btw - that was one of my fave names for ds but there was already one if the family)

Thanks jenny - we did find that site (lol I looked up our girls names last night - while checking out a couple of others) I think it is fab how you can see what others experiences of having the name are. I did come across (but can't find again ) a site that let you put in your surname and then it came up with names matched... it gave us dd1, ds's and FIL's names in the first 5 refreshes of page - and then nothing that we liked after that :rotfl:

boogellyboo - I think that is the thing once you find the right full/pet name it just suits and you know it... I am just not decisive enough atm and DH hates decisions :rotfl:

Best go wake sleepyhead so she can have a nice long feed - always the way - when you expect them to wake they never do! x

    Hi Everyone,

Just caught up! Seems fairly quiet on here lately though.

Like Jenny and nancmat and a lot of you late oct/early nov ladies, I'm trying to get everything sorted. Did lots of shopping yesterday for all the last bits for hospital bag and then picked pram up was a squeeze getting it in the car so hoping that it will fit easily when all the boxes are off else we'll be buying a car to go with it! (Currently I borrow my mum's little Micra)

Why is it that no matter what bra size I am at any particular time (whether smaller cause I've lost weight or now while pg) I seem to be the most common one and the shops are all sold out of that size???! After not being able to find any that didn't cost a bomb anywhere - finally found the last 2 nursing ones they had left in the whole of a really big branch of MC. Wanted to buy mat/nursing nighties too but there was no way I was going to spend the £25-£35 they were asking at MC and M&P. Thanks to Jenny's tip yesterday, got myself over to matalan and got a button up one there for £6 I have two others that don't have buttons but they will have to do! Did buy myself a new pair of boots too while I was there though :o

Had a horrible evening trying to sort out a payment on an ebay item I bought. The seller wanted me to send money to another email address but every attempt I made just didn't seem to be working and she sent me really snotty and rude emails. Things like that can be enough to reduce you to tears when you're pg:o.

Can't believe all the fab bargains you are all getting! Great chair Somnium! All the other bits you all seem to be picking up sound fab too. Makes me feel a bit :o at the expensive brand new pram. I must admit it is lovely but every time I look at it I wonder if I could have done better with our money. I was really pleased when I had washed all my baby clothes/blankets though as I realised I couldn't tell the difference which had been bought new and which were from ebay/boot sales. The whole nursery is M&P Millie & Boris too of which I have bought nothing brand new so I'm not too bad.

Just had a full sachet of ASDA good for you Angel Delight and I feel proper sick. I don't think you are supposed to have the whole packet though

Ooh by the way have any of you ladies that are quite far along had any navel pain? Not asking for medical advice as I'm going to mention it to my MW next week but I seem to have a really sore to the touch point just above my belly button where the skin feels really tight and there is a hard point of pressure behind it. Just wondered if this was common as didn't get it with DD.

BTW things seem to be going quite a bit better with OH over the weekend will take me a while to get back some of the closeness we used to have though I think but will try.

CB - I will be exactly like you with the names - we absolutely cannot come up with anything at all and when I've suggested any to my mum (which I will no longer be doing) she goes "oh my God, are you serious?". With DD's middle name we did something similar to your OH's suggestion and threw some bits of paper with names on on the floor of the car and on the way to register her dad picked one up and we had Freya which I'm still really happy with! It kind of feels like it was meant to be a bit more rather than just you making a big mistake :rotfl:

Congratulations Fitzio :j Holly is a great name and doesn't seem overly common at the moment either x

 If Mountainlioness has had hers, I'm third! I've resigned myself I think to waiting until Thursday morning to meet my little one, even though every night I get contractions and think it might be it. Have mat on bed and towel by bedside just in case waters go.

Nesting has also kicked in big time, and today I have thoroughly cleaned out fridge and freezer. The fridge is nearly empty, but the freezer is cram packed with meals for after baby is born. Have also started the recommended light pre-c section diet today, so hopefully recovery time will be quick. Shame their is a box of maltesers in the cupboard just calling to me, but I shall resist!

Good luck and labour vibes to Harley and Squishy who are due before me and to csh who is due the same day.

Nanc, not black but I really like this type http://www.amazon.co.uk/Easy-Change-Bag-White-Purple/dp/B001GRM6Y4/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=baby&qid=1253535262&sr=8-10 it looks really nifty as comes in two with changing mat bit to put baby on. My pram came with a boring one though (complete with price tag on for £58:eek:) I have therefore banned myself from looking at any more :(

Edit : Oooh maybe a bit to girly for OH though!

  • We like Scarlett but I can't think of how to shorten it - lol the kids know you mean business when they get their full name :rotfl: plus there is the thing when you are somewhere and you need to call them all - although I am thinking of just using "tribe" as there cue to gather together :o gah don't get me wrong I hate the fact she doesn't have a name - DH joked about going to the registrars with a hat and some names...

CB charlotte is sometimes abbreviated to Lottie, so could she be Lettie? I think that's the derivation of it, and old lady names are 'in' at the mo! :)
sorry to butt in ...just wanted to say one of my friends has a dd called Scarlett and is shortened to "Lettie":) It suits her a lot more than Scarlett does tbh:shhh::o
Also it's the easiest way for her teacher to get her attention as there are 6 Scarletts in her nursery:eek:, you'd think they'd have enough to worry about without having to remember surnames too:rolleyes::D
Good luck with choosing a name:)

I had something similar the other day, it felt like I had a bruise there when I poked at it - just checked now and is fine again so was only temporary soreness for me.
