Hello ladies, don’t post too often but always read...
Can anyone help?
I have a moses basket second hand and need a mattress for it.
It is a Babies R us basket and on the website it says the measurements are 65 x 29 cms.
Do I order the mattress to fit this or will it need to be slightly smaller to fit in? Anyone any advice?
Also if anyone has a recommendation of where to buy from that’s great thanks.

well of course it will vary between store to store but mine had some really good stuff in a lot had gone already as baby stuff is popular in the sales. There was quite a lot of boys and unisex clothes but not much baby girls things. At first i filled my trolly with unisex stuff then thought i am mad as i have quite a few unisex bits and i have def having a boy so put them back and got blue.
The discounts vary from 30% 50% and 75% off
I got several of the 7 bodysuits for £3.50 instead of £7, set of 2 sleepsuits £2.75 instead of £5.50 and hooded top for £2
They had a tons of unisex fleece jackets that were £9 reduced to £2 or £3 something but left that as i have a winnie the pooh one. They also had 2 pattened bodysuits for £1.75 and packs of 3 plain ones for £1.75 in unisex
I was hoping that the padded sleepsuits were in the sale but they weren't maybe after xmas though. This is my signature!0 -
chs - if I was you I would just go there and wait to be seen, if you go in they surely have to assess you?
Always - I would be really p'ed off! No one gets to go anywhere near my desk until I've gone and I fully expect to get it back when I return (I have a nice desk next to the window). My cover people currently have to sit at whatever desk is free but as my desk is only set up for a laptop and they need a PC they can't use mine
Madwoman and cheapskate used to post quite often but I haven't seen them on for a while, vicstar keeps up with the thread but doesn't like posting as she has had a few issue, Vicstar - if you are reading let us know you are ok! And don't forget Fidget! Last day in the office for me is the 15th :T.
Keefcat, you might want to ask on the parents thread as they will probably know more than us.Mum to DD born Oct 2009

maybebaby - my Moses basket is also a 2nd-hand Babies R Us one, but when I looked up the model the website gave the mattress dimensions for me? I then just searched eBay for those dimensions to find one

Funnily enough I've just ordered my moses basket mattress on eBay!
Does the basket have a used mattress in? If so just measure this, or the one I have had measurements on it so I just went with the same size. Mine was 27cm x 74cm so I ordered this one but there are different sizes available on eBay. It's all so complicated for pregnant brains, don't you think!!
Elasti- sounds like there are some goodies there. I think two walks in one day would be too much for me but might see how early OH gets home with the car, or wander down tomorrow.
Nicoop- welcome to the madhouse! Not too much longer for you then! Look forward to hearing from you.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

We just rent so we're onto the letting agents about it. Annoying though cos they won't do anything til they check with the landlord and it all seems so time consuming. Hope I don't lose any business over it but I can't tell them that as I'm sure it says in our contracts that we aren't supposed to work from the property! :rolleyes:got-it-spend-it wrote: »I'm back from my Mystery Shop and very soggy! The weather here is so wet, but still quite warm so I was baking in my coat.
It's currently 28 degrees in my office and I'm sweltering! Didn't help that I had to rush out half way through eating my soup to move my car for someone. If they needed it moving at lunchtime they really should have given me a bit of notice. Was all sweaty when I got back (up the 5 flights of stairs) to my soupHi Ladies,
Please can I join the club? I have been a silent lurker for several months !!!

just looking at the latest list, and unless I am having a very bad memory moment, once csh and squishy have graduated to the mummy's list, the next name I recognise is jennynoo! Your due date, Jenny, is the same as my last day in the office - double celebrations hopefully
I'm not that unrecognisable am I? Again it looks like I will have to go and eat some worms, sniffle
Hi everyone,
What a miserable rainy day. I must have got soaked 4 separate times today! Hope some of you are having better weather than we are here it's dreadful.
Oh Csh - that's awful, I really hate it when that happens. I think a lot of midwives can be so dismissive sometimes. Just when you really don't need it, too. I really hope you can get in and see someone nice that will take notice. Don't let them make you feel like you are being a fuss - I think everyone here would have rang too especially on the sight of blood.
Even if it was completely usual and nothing to worry about surely she should have the experience to realise that things like that can be hugely alarming and frightening? I don't think any bleeding should be ignored tbh, someone on the other end of the phone cannot possibly be 100% of what is causing it even if they are trained. Good luck x
EA, Kindof, Jha lovely bumps - none of them look like the result of pies!
Someone asked me a few days ago whether I am pregnant ( I'm 38wks). Honestly, I felt like saying that I must have one serious case of trapped wind if I wasn't. This person knows me from the school run and with me being a size 12 (not skinny but not huge) before, I was really upset that it might be even vaguely possible to smuggle a full term fetus in there. I've had so many different comments about size, from "are you sure you're pregnant" to "are you sure there's only one in there?", that I'm confused to how big/small I actually am. You're self image kind of gets a bit skewed by all the changes I think.
Well I'm no longer allowed to do the 15min plan anymore, I'm not allowed to push a hoover or trolley and avoid any housework - just as I was getting in to it as well! Went to physio and I now have a rather fetching bump support and a pair of crutches - that unfortunately someone has already knocked from under me in Home Bargains! Shopping was a complete nightmare, had my mum following me round at snails pace with the trolley. Then had to watch 64 yr old mum carry all my shopping out of car
Hope everyone else is having a nice day. I just found 2 ebay parcels on my arrival so I've got them to look forward to opening x0 -

Aww, bless your heart Fidget, you're definitely a regular!
I totally know how you feel on the bump debate. MIL thinks I am huge for dates (and she's not exactly a petite lady), lots of my friends think I'm quite small for dates, my boss couldn't believe how small I still was when I left work and my fundal height has always measured spot on at MW so who knows?!I think people like having their tu'ppeneth's worth but as you say, it's hard when your self image is already all over the place!
Tis so wet here as well- I really want to get out in the garden and pull up some of the dying veggie plants but it's just too yucky.
SJ- to five floors. Do you have a lift?!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
awww Fidget, I'm sure always was just having preggo brain!
I'm not sure whether the crutches/housework ban are good news or bad news, but I hope your SPD feels better all the same.
People are so rude when it comes to comments...if it was to any non-pregnant woman they'd get slapped in the face, but somehow pregnancy gives people an open invite to make whatever comments they please?? I wouldn't worry as this woman is clearly delusional and I'm sure your bump is absolutely lovely!!
Haven't heard from csh since she phoned the hospital, so hope all is okay? hugs, hon!!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

NoMy office is only half way up so not too bad, but the canteen is on the top floor so if I go up there from ground it's annoying.
Easiest route to my office is in at the side entrance though, although that means an extra flight of stairs in the morning as opposed to coming in through reception. 3 floors is a lot harder than it used to be! God knows how I will feel doing it just before I leave!0
