I'll hang up shortly. Will try again in the morning next week.

yeah i've given up. Can you tell me which day you're ringing next week and I'll avoid ringing that day ! maybe we can set a rota up ? ;)
  • Hubby waited about 20 mins at approx 2.15 today, freephone number so he wasn't too bothered though I've no doubt others have better things to do than sit like lemons waiting to get through. 'Just' the on-line bit left now.

I've been waiting about 1 hour 40 minutes so far.

It's past the closing time but does anyone know if they'll answer the calls that're waiting before they all go home?

If I leave the call connected all weekend then I'll be first in the queue on Monday morning(!)

I'd hang up mate, think they went home about 4pm.

I think you might be right. I gave up in the end (I left the phone on speakerphone until about 20:30)

0800 00 55 00 (on the back of the no-purpose, plastic card) is also a waste of time but you do get to hear Miss Husky inviting you to enter your telephone PIN. Sadly, she did not recognise mine. My fault, I merely entered it exactly as it was written on the Citibank letter. Interestingly, my card has an expiry date of 12/49. Does this mean that I have an out of date card from 1949? I think it must mean 2049. If so, I'm consoled. Means my 4 yr old grandson can keep trying to get through long after I'm gone.

Hmmm, that's the one that works OK for me. FWIW you can avoid entering card numbers etc. by just entering *0 (after pressing 3 to skip the speech service) to get through to a real person.

Tried another test call this morning and it took me 4 minutes 25 seconds to get through to a person, so not so good. Probably not helped by idiots like me wasting their time making pointless calls!

think you must have your own personal hotline to them Stompa. Can we all phone you & you can act as a switchboard ? ;)

I know they say activation is Mon to Fri but they're allowing you to queue this morning ! This must be costing them a load in reverse charges, they'll have to bring the interest rate down to pay for it...
