April 2010 brides (and grooms) - do we have a thread?!

Woo-hoo finished writing the invites and they will be posted tomorrow.
Took our Best Women and our friends who are singing to the venue for lunch last Sunday and met the lovely man who will be organising things on the day, he was great and nothing is a problem/too much trouble, he's also booked the dj for us.
We're going through periods of being very giddy!!
Everything seems to be coming along well, how's everyone else doing??

Eeek! Forgot about this thread, not been on the wedding board for a little while.

We have 90 or 89 in an hour days to go! I have almost finished the invites, just got to add the ribbon and they are done. Then its the order of service and table plan. All the big things are paid, just a few things that can't be paid until the day, then little bits and bobs. Really need to get some shoes for my fitting in 3 weeks.

Ordered all my foam roses so will make a start on buttonholes and bouquets when then arrive. Hoping its fairly straight forward

I cant believe how fast it seems to be coming around now, it only feels like last week when it was ages off and I couldn't really do much now it seems like I have to do everything before I run out of time lol

How's everyone doing?
We've had a flurry of activity!
Collected our lovely rings this week! Am very pleased and can't wait to wear it!
Went to the lovely cheese shop in Haworth and picked our cheese for the cake yesterday, we're having a lancashire, cornish yarg, wensleydale and brie!
Then went to the dressmakers who is making my partners outfit - it lookes lovely and she looks amazing in it.
Finished my tiara today and gave the flower girl's some finishing touches, just a headband to make for the youngest now.

We sent our invites out 2 weeks ago and have only had 1 written RSVP, have had some verbal ones - is this normal? Gave a cut off of the 27th Feb, then will start chasing up!

I'm a bit static to be honest and I keep having anxiety dreams that nothing is ready!

Not been able to do much since December because of applications/interviews for work in august (got a post, woo!)

Most of our replies have come back, accomodation is being booked for those who need it. Bit annoying that our wedding is on a liverpool home match day and the hotels are getting full quickly... but I think most everyone that needs one has got one.

Still need face, hair and flowers, la la laa...

As for us.....

We have 54 days til we leave for Italy and 66 til the wedding! :eek:

I stripped down my engine and rebuilt it over the Christmas holiday, so scooter is running like a dream now. DF has totally stripped his down and rubbed it down in preparation for painting (told him he had to make his pretty for wedding photos)

My Scooter and DF Scooter (hopefully his will look as pretty as mine by the time it is done!)

Invites for the party for our friends went out with Christmas cards, but will also give some out in person when we see them at events over the next few weeks. Venue sorted, 2 DJ's arranged, family's hotel rooms booked for that weekend (got some of the £9.00 rooms in the Travelodge sale) :T. Decided to scrap the afternoon tea idea and just go for a traditional buffet, but will be having loads of cup cakes and a sweetie buffet as well. Have found a place online to bulk order sweets and have been collecting clear jars and vases.

All our paperwork has been sorted and posted to the planner.

Final payment for villa has been sent

DF's outfit is complete apart from shoes

I went for 2nd fitting for my dress on Friday, expecting it to be still calico, but was amazed that she had made it up! Trouble is, I have lost 1.5 stone since my first fitting, so she ended up taking it in loads. Going back in 3 weeks to try it on with the adjustments - looking really good, especially with the petticoat, but I am going to have to revise the jewellery I had picked out. Also changed my mind over my shoes - had gotten a pair of Jasper Conran slingbacks (ebay bargain), but finally caved in and bought some Vivienne Westwood Dragon Lady ones - fingers crossed they will arrive tomorrow.

Going to start sessions at local beauty parlour - facials, manicures etc, so I am looking fab on my special day (I figure after all my hard work I deserve it)

Went wedding ring shopping yesterday - I really wanted a diamond set band, but when I tried it with my engagement ring it looked really yuk! So have now chosen a plain white gold band - waiting for them to ring us with a price before ordering.

All in all, feeling very relaxed about everything.

How are the rest of you ladies getting on??

Hi everyone - I was panicing tonight !! We still have the following to do:
Hair booked but looking for cheaper quotes
Make up
Flowers
Tiara and Shoes to get - looked at lots but havent decided.
Underwear got some but not sure so may get some more !!
Rings - need to order, probably will do this at weekend.
Sort out other stuff for the party after honeymoon. I think its less than 10 weeks till 17th April !! Well best get some sleep !!

Right I'm well and truley fed up! The nightmares keep coming each night. I go to bed feeling all tierd then soon as my head hits the pillow my mind fills with thoughts and ideas about hte wedding, I muct do this, must remeber that ect ect. last night it was purely about my dress and when I went to try it on I hated it but it was too late to do anything about it, I've even had a nightmare that I fall over my dress whilst holding my baby niece in my arms!! :eek: its getting daft now, any idea's for a calming nights sleep would be appreciated

other than this I think I'm on track, only 6 weeks Sat to go :cool: keeping my cool!

Can I join in? We booked our wedding only 3 weeks ago. April 24th is the big day and we're doing it as cheaply as possible lol.
So far got the venue, meal & evening do booked, my dress bought (£175 bargin) and our daughters bridesmaids dresses. Having a nightmare getting adult bridesmaid dresses in the colour i want that dont cost more than my dress. Trying not to stress though :S

Cleomolly - I know how you feel - the dreams are crazy!! I'm trying to have 'non-wedding days', with no wedding planning or discussion, this seems to help a normal nights sleep

Ooh the same day as us! And you are more organised than me so far!! More excited about my hen weekend at the minute, cant wait. We're really gonna have to start planning the finer details soon tho

I was getting those dreams - nightmares last week - too much late night wedding planning methinks !!! I feel a bit calmer the last few days. I collected the BM dresses today, was funny though as thought wraps were in went to the shop and they werent, asked about the dresses and got those instead !!!:j Still got to get our rings, sort our flowers, tiara, more underwear, get some of the men measured etc for suits etc etc. Feel like we have got a lot arranged but the lists seem to get longer !!! Under 2 months to go - cant wait for honeymoon !! 2 weeks to relax in Barbados !!!! Good luck to everyone !!
