Well we chose the date as its after Easter and school hols. But its also due to my work - I am usually busy with month end the first two weeks of the month !! So not especially romantic more practical - less than 5 months to go now and soo much to do !!
:j I am doing a bit of weddings and a bit of xmas at the mo. My bridesmaids were worrying about being cold today in dresses. Do we get wraps or what is best the thing ??:rotfl:
We got married 17th April 2010 !! A wonderful day with my wonderful husband !! :T0 -
Hey ladies and gents...........
Ok, I'll add myself to the long list of 17th April brides... it's so exciting.
We've booked the hall, ordered my dress, and chosen the colour theme.... I think that's all we've done so far. It sometimes feels like there is not much to do, but I know the mad rush will come closer to the time. I do have an idea what I want the bridesmaids to wear, but I was also worried they might get a lil cold... I'll be interested to know what the best thing will be for them.0 -
Does anyone else in the april thread feel like they are getting way behind! I feel like I'm starting to loose track of things and with Christmas fast approaching I'm concentrating on that at the moment but after Xmas it's only 13 weeks till my big day! I have a box full of card, paper and ribbon to make the invites but haven't got round to it yet as have only just confirmed our menu (which will be printed on the invites). On a high note I've got my first dress fitting with the alterations lady at the weekend and haven't seen my dress since I bought it at the end of August! oh and managed finally to get all the fellas together, in the same place at the same time for suit fittings! Arrrggghhh does anyone else feel like their getting a little behind!!!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0

YES!!! We spent time at the weekend assembling invites - got about half of them done! Yesterday I sat down and wrote our things to do list, colour coded as to which of us is doing what and with timescales of when it needs to be done by!!! We had a big realisation that at Christmas it'll only be 12 weeks! All our weekends between now and Christmas are booked up with partys/visiting etc"Normal is not something to aspire to - it is something to get away from" - Jodie Foster0

Hi I agree, we still have lots to do. Have maybe found a venue for the meal but they are not answering their phone or replying to emails at the moment. I feel like i dont know whether to do wedding stuff or Xmas stuff. Anyway hopefully it will get done somehow one way or the other. Trying to get girls together to sort bridesmaids dresses is tough !! Do we need to buy their shoes etc too ?We got married 17th April 2010 !! A wonderful day with my wonderful husband !! :T0

I'm Friday April 9th, so far have booked the ceremony venue, the reception and party we are having in OH's pub so thats sorted! My friend is making the cake, we are either having a profiterole tower or cup cakes havent quite decided yet! Have tried on dresses, thought I had found the one but couldnt get it in time, so now I have tried another which is so completely different to anything I would normally choose but I fell in love with it so not sure what to do, am taking a friend for a third opinion this week! Have decided on a style but not a colour for my daughter who is chief bridesmaid and having two other little ones but leaving them till after Christmas and hope to find something in the sales! Invitations chosen but not ordered yet not sure whether to bother with orders of service!Friday April 9th 2010 the day I become Mrs Jones!

Arrrggghhh does anyone else feel like their getting a little behind!!!
We're going in cycles - we were feeling ahead, thanks to a huge weekend meeting the minister, the florist, the caterers and the ring-maker... but now we've not had time to do anything for a few weeks, and we feel like we're starting to slip again. Need to get some invitations done, but don't know when we'll find the time!
Money saving tip for anybody in the right area: Bicester Village! I bought my wedding suit there - last season's £1,000 Valentino for a bargainaceous £200! :T:j:money:0 -
We're slowly making progress, got very excited about the rings this weekend, we've decided which design we're going with and they are making wax models of them which we can go try on next Saturday! Woo-Hoo!!
My partner has (finally) made an appt with the dressmaker for the 7th to look at having the top of a bridesmaid dress made in to a top, the dressmaker thinks she'll have plenty of time so that's good.
Feel like we're making progress again now - next is finishing the felt flowers and my tiara!"Normal is not something to aspire to - it is something to get away from" - Jodie Foster0 -
Hi all, well we ordered the bridesmaid dresses on Saturday !! Still got lots to do, but I am pleased we have got them sorted. Burgundy and Ivory, seems very popular but nevermind, should go with the venue and my dress !!:jWe got married 17th April 2010 !! A wonderful day with my wonderful husband !! :T0

We just paid the deposit for 5th April (Easter Monday - madness?!?).
We're getting married in an old manor. The licensed room will then turn into the room we eat our meal. We're planning on having about 20 guests.
So far we've bought the wedding dress in a sample sale (need to lose a little weight though), and we've booked the honeymoon to the Maldives.
We're going up to Hatton Gerden next week to sort the wedding rings out.
We haven't done much else.
We need to sort out who is *actually* coming (and write/make the invites). We'll do that in January.
We've sorted out the menu (choice of two per course - I think we'd end up having a devoice before we get married if we only had one choice).
I've seen a cake I like - actually I'll email for a price today. If it's too much we'll go the M&S way.
Not sure what will happen with the flowers, what with florists being shut over Easter - do they shut over Easter? If they do we'll make our own.
He already has his suit.
There won't be any bridesmaids, and we may get the best man to do the photos, or my uni friend, both of who are very good amateurs. Or get in a pro, depending on cost and a few other things.
So there isn't *too much* more to do. It's only a wedding, after all! I'm not going to get stressed about it. Well, apart from losing a stone!0
