I just found this thread and would like to add I am getting married on 17th April as well! Very popular day!:rotfl:0

April 24 for me and I can't wait! Got my dress ordered (thankfully my parents chipped in, but still not mega expensive), just booked caterers, got photographer (discount as she's a (younger) friend of my gran), sister in law to be is doing my hair as she's a haidresser (also going to be a bridesmaid, don't know how that'll work out...) and, the honeymoon! We're self-catering in Vancouver for 10 days!
We're saving money on a cake by having lots of 'village fete' style cakes rather than one big one. Hopefully a friend of the family is going to do them and having lots of different types means there's something to suit all.
When is everyone else sending their invites out? We haven't done the save the dates, so we'd quite like to do it end of October and avoid the xmas rush. Does that sound too early??!
Anyway, good luck everyone and enjoy (I know I am!)0 -
Cleomolly - and anybody else, for that matter - I am quite happy to send you a copy of the spreadsheet! Just PM me your email address (or if anybody knows how to post attachments to MSE, please let me know how!) and I'll get it to you when I can (travelling tomorrow for work, so prob not til next week now).0

Can I join? OH proposed last week and we've provisionally decided on next April to get married. Only 7 months to plan EVERYTHING! Eeeek!
I'm thinking of the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham for the reception, and my family's parish church for the ceremony. I tried ringing my local parish priest earlier but no answer, so I'll try again tomorrow. Catholic Church requires a 6 month preparation period (to make sure you're not rushing into anything I suppose!) so we're cutting it fine but April suits best, followed by some time in Autumn, and I prefer April.
RE: April 17th being a popular day? That's my birthday, it's a fab day!Saving for a house deposit.
Trying to sort clutter and sell as much as possible to make room and money!0 -

Just a quick update on my progress. Have been suit shopping with the other half and think he has chosen one (after a full day at Meadowhall and subject to finding the right shirt!)
After not being able to find my perfect dress at a price I was willing to pay I found a local dressmaker and have been for a consultation. She helped me with my design and is now making me a toile to fine tune it.
Researched our ferry crossings and just have to book our tickets. Also found a train which we can put the scooters on which will take us from Germany to Alessandria in Italy, saving us about 3 days riding and therefore giving us more time in Rome!
So excited! :j0 -
Our invitations are en route from Panama (H2B's family live there and cheaper than printers here) and I found some fab shoes in M&S today! £20, pink and sparkly for a bit of twinkle when they peep out from under my dress :rotfl:
Going to a wedding fayre at Sefton Park tomorrow to look at cars.
Still need to get the suits and book the mini honeymoonMarried Ajichombo on 17th April 2010 :j0 -
No change from me at the moment as we're in the process of buying a house and all my spare brain is taken up with thoughts of that! That's time consuming enough without thinking bout weddings!! We're hoping to buy a new house once we've finished doing up my old one! Hopefully before April!!! Which is why I'm trying to get organised now - coz I think after Christmas the weeks will fly by!"Normal is not something to aspire to - it is something to get away from" - Jodie Foster0 -

It definitely will! I've done quite a bit already, just little things like finalising the guest list, sending out invites etc to do now.My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
