Cleomolly - sorry to hear you are stressing and having bad dreams. Perhaps having a rule of "no wedding talk/planning" at least an hour before bed, then a nice long soak in the bath to give yourself time to relax might help?

We've sorted a few more bits.......

Got DF shoes, so he is all finished now :j
Picked wedding ring last weekend, ordering it today :j

Bought all my glass containers and sweets for the sweetie buffet at the party when we come back (will have to hide them so there is some left!) :rotfl:

Flowers have been chosen and ordered

Only snag we've hit so far is the location hairdresser. I asked my planner to find me someone local to put my hair up on the morning. Not sure what planet the hairdresser was from as she quoted 200 euro to put my hair up, another 50 to do my makeup and another 50 for the privilege of having it done at the villa! Can you guess what my reply was??? Our photographer is only costing 400 euro (including his travel expenses) and at least I get something to keep from that!

Jobs to do list consists of choosing my jewellery and some nice undies instead of the scaffolding I originally had (don't need it now I have lost weight!) :j

May also book a makeup consultation as I don't normally wear much and tend to just "slap it on" so would like some ideas/techniques to use

Oh, one thing I can highly recommend - I've booked myself a series of beauty treatments (because I'm worth it, lol) Have had a massage, facial and manicure so far - well worth the money, if only for the relaxation.

Dress fitting next Friday (it may actually fit now she has taken it in, lol!) :j

Have a good weekend all :)
  • Thank you ladies, realised where I'm going wrong. Too much wedding planning too late in the night! I like the sound of having some treatments seabee in the next few weeks, sounds really relaxing - and of course your worth it ; )

jjbargaingal - 2 weeks in heaven, bet you can't wait. I'm still not sure what we will be doing after the wedding, prob not go away as were going to a friends wedding in Cyprus 5 weeks after the wedding! I'd like something to look forward to though, might see if I can get a nice little cottage somewhere for a few days and take the doggies!!

still do to, and 6 weeks to go:

    suit fitting and order
    collect and pay for rings
    table name holders
decide on flowers - got florist
    final dress fitting
sort BM's dress out, she has it but wants some changes
make order of service, table plan, thank you's in advance
make-up - doing my head in, who'd have thought there was so much to buying a lippy and a bit of blusher!
nails and eye lash extensions - I will cry like a baby all day so eyelashes a must!
music for meal (about an hour still to find)
what to walk down the isle too?
    OH's shoes
my underwear which will be bridget jones style, I'll have to buy a nice something to wear to bed that night too ; )
    buy confectionary for favours ect.
make up kids packs to keep them all entertained

and I think that's about it, wow it helps to write it all down.

Cleomolly - yep, you are right. I love lists! It is soooooo satisfying when you cross things off. Makes you realise just how much you have done.

Only trouble is, things keep getting added as well!
  • Bad wedding dreams? I hear you (and this was while I was working 12-hour night shifts on critical care and not thinking wedding stuff AT ALL)

The last one was everyone left after arrival drinks, the guests were no-one we knew, the DJ hadn't turned up and then a load of women were in one corner trying on wedding dresses and I wasn't wearing mine

Dreamed Cheryl Cole was at my reception though, that wasn't bad!

    8 weeks tomorrow!

Flowers and suits to go, then I think that's it!

  • I had one the other week where we walked in to the room and everyone was sat round in a big circle! They were singing Jeruselem and I was saying no you can't but the registrar joined in!

Six weeks today it will be Good Friday and we'll be in our log cabin at the venue, I think it's all coming together now, the plan for this weekend is to get together all the info for the registrar as we meet with her next Friday, sort out what I'm wearing for Blackpool next weekend, practice how I want my make-up and start making the favours - flannel cupcakes.
(we have a "things to do" list pinned to the kitchen door that we're ticking off as we go! I'm a list person too x)

Just to update (and sink into my head!)

less then 4 weeks to go and to do:
    Collect and pay for rings
final dress fitting with hair trial before
find and buy BM shoes and accessories
Groom needs some shoes and socks
print Order of Service - copy left with Vicor to check before we do so
make up and print seating plan
    buy favours for adults
    buy sweets for sweet table
collect and pay for flowers day before wedding
pay for caricaturist on night of wedding

choose and buy a lippy, foundation (rest of make-up courtesy of friends)
start to use fake tan, otherwise I'll be as white as a sheep at this rate!

And for now thats it..........right now get all that to sink in lol : )

    Getting nervous now

Had my hair and makeup trials today, wheeeeee!

Hair lady is a bit bossy but I'm hoping after a glass of champagne I won't mind too much. Makeup lady was absolutely lovely! Tried on my bargainous LightInTheBox veil and Panamanian tembleque tiara thing - its sooo pretty!

Its starting to feel all very real now!
