sorry i've not been on for an age!!!!

my dress arrived on monday and went to pay it off and try it on wednesday - it was lovely - far too long for me, as i'm quite short, but i loved it!!! i do fit in it as well but now i just want to tone up my arms and back and tone my tummy up a little.

amazingly they were having a sale on in the shop of all their veils, headgear, hats etc etc. i tried a few veils on, without knowing the price....eventually found one which was gorgeous - and it was £14 in the sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bargain!!!!!!!!!!!

I was and am a happy bunny! Plus mum paid for it all too!

    10 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had a few more replies and it's looking likely that we may be able to 'bump' some people up from the evening....am hoping they wont take offence!

oh that is lovely news cara. i haven't even thought about my dress tbh since i ordered it. its one thing i am not panicing over. still need to pay the balance so the longer it takes, the better in a sense. lol

my h2b is inviting people verbally with no thought to numbers etc. i am getting rather cross with him. people he hasn't seen in ages! its him paying for it though so as long as we don't go over the max, we should be fine.

i think that's a bloke thing.....my oh has recently in the past few months started a new job and he keeps coming home with a list of people to invite to the evening do!! Even though we are about 50 people over what we told the venue (although is it me but I've had about 6 people confirm for the evening do out of nearly 100?)

Anyway, the room only holds 200 in total so if everyone came, we're at our max and still he wants to invite more people.

The thing I find unbelievable though is that people have the cheek to ask "so where's my invite then?" or "can i come to the wedding?" - now, admittedly these questions are not to me but my oh - he's too soft!!! I wouldn't dream of asking someone outright that I'd probably known about 2 months max!!!

So i know where you are coming from magicgirl!

I have just had people ask about rooms. They were told that there were a limited number of rooms and we rang everyone to find out if they wanted one and the said no so we gave them other people and now they say actually we do want the room!!!! AARGH!!

Have heard back from only 2 people so far - I have put 24th August on the invites! It might just be 4 of us!

Not going to panic about it! OH has ended up inviting loads of people from work but we not certain if they will turn up! Hopefully they do or it will be a pretty pathetic party!

Need to find a circle cutting tool now! OH has decided he needs one now! My budget is increasing! Need to talk to the venue though - hoping to put a couple of bottles of wine on tables instead of the drinks packages now as loads of people we have spoken to -who haven't yet RSVP'd - say they will not be drinking and i'm not paying for my Monster-in-Law 2b to get drunk! Rant over! :-)

OMG - i am so glad its not just me!! I have had a few of the mums asking if they can come to the reception and this is after i have commented about how i cannot even afford to invite my whole family and how numbers are limited. i really don't understand some peple. I just say about how everyone is welcome to the church! lol. On teh other side of the coin, I have people from the school who i want to the evening do and they are asking if they would be intruding. bless them.. I did explain we have more room for evening (room will hold up to 150 for evening - up to 100 in day)

I was expecting a lot of refusals but had more than expected butthen loads saying tehy have to bring kids so i think it alances out in the end. ?!

I have had similar. luckily, we were told that we have to go thru our co-ordinator and we are not expecting to respond to her til end of this month.

I have got an email drafted to send her but i am sure she told us that we were only supposed to get the rate for one night ie the night of the wedding but i asked soemone recently and they said i could have it for guests staying two nights. I bloomin well hope so cos if not, we are covering the difference. EEK! really should send that off sooner rather than later to allow for our budget. lol

  • I start a new job just 4 weeks before the wedding and have no plans to invite the new people to the wedding or night do. I am a softie though so this could change. :o

We're suddenly having people ask about rooms etc. As most people live within 10 miles of where we are getting married, this worried me as I hadn't really thought of this (Yes, I am silly) so went to the venue today to get a discounted price. Also got to look round the bridal suites and choose which was nice as we hadn't seem them before.

Went for a meal at the venue today and they had a wedding on and it looked so lovely that I kept thinking that in 10 weeks, will people be looking out the window trying to see what my dress is like?

I posted my invites 2 weeks ago and only had 3 people send them back! Like some of you lot, it may be a max 10 of us if people don't pull their fingers out. :rotfl:Although someone got offended the other day when she received the evening invite, I could so tell she was expecting the day invite! Stayed strong though!
How long til pay day?

I have just been and posted the details of a local hotel through a few doors to appease people - the venue often works with the other!

I am trying hard not to ring my auntie and ask if she wants a room! She has rung everyone she knows to complain that there are only 10 rooms available - her husband has googled the venue and decided that he had to ring the venue to ask about disabled access! My auntie has MS and I can understand that she finds it hard but not once has she rung me! I have reserved a room for her but am resisting ringing her - that is what she wants! She told my nana that if I cared about her I would have rung her to find out if she wants to stay! She has a very much - the world revolves around me attitude! WE ended up having a huge row about it yesterday! He says just ring her and I said I am not ringing - everyone else has rung me to ask about rooms - she has spoken to the venue, my mum, my other auntie, my nana, my other nana, my cousins, my great auntie - everyone but me! As I am the one paying for it surely she should be asking me! Both her daughters have rung/text to see what we can do!

    Rant over with now!

I have finally found my shoes - got them from Faith in Debenhams reduced from £70 to £18 and also got an extra 10% off for a very minute mark -well chuffed.
I also got 2 hairpieces for my older bridesmaids in Claire's outlet shop they have peacock feathers on black feathers so thinking of making something bigger myself for the bridesmaids to carry.
I am going to try my dress on again in about 2 1/2 weeks and have not even attempted to lose the few pounds I was supposed to - I really need to get my !!!! in gear.:j
Can't believe it's coming round so quickly now only 2 more paydays nightmare
