October 2010 brides (and grooms!)

Wow. Everyone is doing so well. :j

I managed to drag OH to get the wedding rings yesterday. I've ordered the exact opposite to what I thought I'd get, again.

The invites have FINALLY been ordered and are being printed as we speak (well maybe not as we speak as England are playing and the country has ground to a halt ).

Just need to get other bridesmaid dress ordered. Still don't know what to do with her though in case she has a growth spurt, so i'm putting it off as long as possible. Other bridesmaid needs to meet me to try hers on and that is a mission in itself as she only lives down the road but has the most active social life of anyone I know.

String quartet - booked (need to make firm decisions on music tho!)
Dress and veil - ordered should be here in July
BM dress - arrived, just fitting to be done
Cake - hmm maybe M&S but mum to decorate so no probs

Hair & Make-up lady - booked (yet to have trial)
My wedding ring bought - groom still to buy his (surprise surprise!)
Tiara - bought and received yesterday yay!

Chocolate fountain - booked (took the plunge and booked yesterday!)
Flowers - got bouquet and centrepeices already, making pew ends myself but already got the stuff, need to get BM a single stem (silk) and need to think about whether i wanna pay the church flower lady the extortionate amount she wants to charge!!
Favours - can't make 'til week or so before wedding as they're cookies!
Invitations - all made just need to send out in next couple of weeks
Chair covers/sashes - booked as part of venue package
Suits - ordered
buttonholes - bought
Insurance - paid for
Guestbook - bought

Underwear to get asap!


Is there anything else....?!!?!?!!?!! Sure there MUST be but cannot think!!!

I have also set up a photobucket account for the wedding and ordered business cards with the user name and password fo the guests to go on and upload all thier own photos for us. Now i need to decide wether to have them on the tables for the night or put them in the invites??

I have paid deposit for big red bus and chair covers this weekend. buying rings on weds hopefully. might pay another £200 off my dress too cos then i have less than £400 to pay and being august, i shall be upset handing too much cash over. lol. (school hols = very expensive!)

My daddy is giving us money to pay for the reception but it is about the same as what we owe on other stuff. i am chipping away at it but i told h2b that i want to use the cash he gives us for all the 'bits' we need and the major payment to hotel to go on the credit card. we should be able to pay it off in a couple of months as most of the money will be loaded on straight away but even so.. it will be nice knowing its just one payment going on the card, even if a big one, cos the little stuff all adds up and we could well end up spending more than expected. Prob is, i have to convince h2b that its a good idea cos we have tried so hard to do this with no credit and its HIS credit but as he hasn't been working much, i have been paying for most of this wedding. thankfully, his work is picking up and I know that I can afford to pay it, just not in seven weeks which is when the bulk of the payments are to be completed! i am sure we will muddle thru it but h2b hates talking money and freaks out everytime i bring up anything involving spending. lol lucky for him, i have kept my finger on the pulse and know EXACTLY how much we still need.

Sorted out about the cake with my sis. i had another friend offer to make one for me if i had any probs which is so lovely! SHe has wanted to do a wedding cake for ages. She has a few kids and makes loads of cakes each year. they are always delightful and i half wish i could have two cakes but i think for the size of my wedding, its so not worth it. anyone near sheffield wanting a cake, let me know and i will see what i can do! lol

Shoes €“ still looking but have an '€˜emergency' pair if required. seen a pair in monsoon that i like the look of. alas, i ma have to accept my dream pair were not to be.

Brides accessories/jewellery gold jewellery (something borrowed)
Hair and make up I will do my own makeup. found salon for hair.
Bridesmaid dresses Got the kiddies ones. My CBM will have hers in Aug if milly deliver
Grooms/male attendants attire h2b has outfit. need one for best man
Bridesmaid accessories won't be a lot. lol.
Gifts
For bridemaids getting a special mention. CBM will get something as a token.
For male attendants We are buying suits and so that is one of the gifts. The other will be a small token gift. Maybe cufflinks or whatever.
Gifts for family members Thinking of getting a nice watch for my daddy but then we would have to get something equally nice for his daddy. I know it sounds mean but seeing as my daddy is paying for XYZ, I think it would be rude if we didn't get him something nice but i am really irked at the idea of having to buy something for the FiL. Gona fnd something nice for mil though as she is making our ring cushion which is so special to me as her fingers are f00ked and i had forgotten when i asked but she still doing it.

First night/honeymoon
First night hotel WE HAVE A ROOM!
Honeymoon using my airmiles to have a mini moon immediately following the wedding but having a ‘proper; honeymoon in Jan.
Other expenses
Wedding co-ordinator included. Also, the hotel use staff as the toast master. I would have loved a proper toast master but doesn’t go with our theme
Also have insurance

Main issue now is logistics on the day. need to start thinking about that.

Well, the in laws to be will NOT be coming to the wedding. Infact over my dead body will they be there or have anything to do with me or the baby ever again! (their only grandchild).

emails have been going back and forth yesterday and this morning and they are a disgrace!

Full of excuses of why they haven't bothered acknowledging the baby ~ I am hopping mad!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, OH has been great. I told him time and time again to get things sorted because I didn't want there to be an atmosphere at the wedding if we hadn't seen them for months and months, but he didn't because he knew he would be banging his head against a brick wall......now I know what he meant by that!

I emailed yesterday pointing out that OH deserved an apology, as his Dad had promised he would make more of an effort with the baby and didn't do, because OH is awfully upset over it.

All the excuses came out then but the best one was that OH should ring his Dad to see how he is because it works both ways (how you can compare a grown adult with a little baby I don't know!). OH did used to ring his Dad but his Dad would go on and on about how super the dog was and how close he was to the dog, while not even asking after the baby!

It's their loss, I'm not having them ruining the day, and I don't even know why they would want to come anyway!

well, the day is all about you and your h2b. te children complete you and make you a family. you don't need them if thats how they are being. i was lucky mine came round but it was hard. we have three children and our pg announcements were always met with a distasteful manner. i am sure your day will be just as special with or without them. x
