I mean to add... a few posts back someone mentioned about their face being less puffy and people commenting on how the person looked thinner since not drinking. I have to agree, and since being AF not only is my face less hamster-like, but also the whites of my eyes are actually.... almost white! Not that ill yellow/grey colour!!
At the weekend I looked back at some holiday photos - all contained glasses/bottles of wine/beer and my face looks puffy and bloated and about 10 years older... Forget expensive face creams and facials! Being AF, and drinking more water, sleeping better, has (I feel) takes years off you! Now THAT is an incentive....Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

Hi....not got time to reply to everyone ...seem to be very busy these days...funny thing is that I am coping with it though! I really have felt more energy & its only really this last few days...so its taken 3 weeks of AF to get this far.
mrsdee - best incentive of all...weight loss & better skin! wow well done.
Gromit - good luck with the interview & keeping AF until then...one day at time & every day counts.
GP - Great weight loss! You are doing so well ! The headache will fade....Took a few weeks for me...think its the poison getting out of the system.
JO - Wow Sweetie...I think your Dad is definately `with` you at the moment. If you do set yourself a challenge then remember these words. Btw I am not religious in any sense at all...but the sentiments of this poem make us realise that we all need support at certain times & that it is there if we look for it.Footprints in the SandOne night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only. This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”Mary Stevenson, 19360 -
Angie, that made me tear up (and I'm sitting at my desk
), I've often seen that poem written but never ever read it. Thanks for posting it and making me aware of the words, it's quite poignant and as I am a Christian, quite apt to me
God I wanna cry now
I loved waking up this morning feeling like a bus had run over me numerous times during the night, there is something about rousing from sleep knowing that you are not going to be (intentionally) ill, so tired is good, that's normal. So great to be in touch with your feelings and even your aches and pains! So why, oh why, in around 5 hours I will be craving to drink and stop being in a place I love to be??

Good Morning all,
Another 1 for me YM taking my total to 4....
Had a rubbish weekend decided Friday night to just drink what I wanted as I have been very careful only to have 1 or 2 glasses during the week, well that was a bad idea....1 bottle of wine later and a large whisky I felt plastered...had to resort to watching TV with 1 eye as if I opened both I could see 4 of everything
Woke up Saturday with raging hangover and felt dreadful all day.....could of easily not drank Sat night but my dad was over so drank another bottle
Anyway woke up Sunday morning....with no hangover but sickness bug instead......spent most of day wishing I could just crawl into bed.Had early night last night with no alcohol and then spent most the night shivering/sweating and generally not sleeping!
Awoke today feeling like I have been run over.Twice.Dropped kids at school and am now deliberating wether top crawl into bed again or try and do the zillion jobs I have mounting up.....
Anyway think tonight will definetly be alcohol free as everything that passes my lips wants to come straight back out again.:D
Yuk yuk yuk.....also feel a bit chesty and fluey and yukky......last time i checked i was 32 but today Im sure I'm 92

Cheers, dears.
Again, I'm not putting all of the lardloss down directly down to the beer. I'm aware it's full of calories, but its the associated bad habits that come with drinking that weren't helping either (the numerous visits to the fridge, the fast food, the unhealthy 'hangover cure' breakfasts, the late lie-ins, the unwillingness to do exercise).
I guess indirectly you could say it was the beer, but it wasn't JUST the beer, if you get what I mean.
I'm going to make an effort to drink a lot more water through the day, I think the headache isn't being helped by dehydration, maybe? And I'm gong to quit that rubbish vending machine coffee too...trouble is, it's a free vending machine at the end of the office...way too convenient!0 -
know what you mean about the "add-on" calories involved with drinking... Drinking more water during the day will help clear your head - eventually - I think it takes a while though! - and as you'll know, if you are cycling a lot you need plenty of AF fluid! It will also help get rid of those poisons that have been lurking somewhere and generally help you feel "clean" (it does me, anyway!).Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

I agree with you mrsdee, I've had comments that I've lost weight but I think it is that I have lost bloat as the scales only show about 3lbs loss, like you said, that is an incentive! (AF drink of course!)0 -
Wine 500+ calories a bottle, 95 ish in a glass
500 x 7days = OMG - 3500 extra (just alcohol calories) (see GP post above)
95 x 7 days = 665 calories
Scary stuff
No wonder things start to decrease rapidly when not drinking!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Thanks fay
It all adds up does`nt it. I can`t say I`ve lost much however...3lbs in nearly 4 weeks plus I`ve been walking too.
My appetite is returning though so maybe that is a compensating factor.
3500 extra calories a week is an awful lot!!:eek:0
