well done. but 6 months after the start date is october.

from april to may is one month
may to june is 2 month
june to july is 3 month
july to aug is 4 month
Aug to sept is 5 month
sept to Oct is 6 month

and if the terms are *Enquiries cannot be raised until 6 months after the transaction date*. Then and only then can you open an enquiry

by all means open up an enquiry but before you get in touch with trading standards but learn how to count your months first eh ;)

No its not validated after 6 months from the start of the policy. Been told it may be this month but to contact them after the 21st.

States above that it will validate 6 months from the date of the start of the policy. This add is very misleading , I asked Quidco to remove as a member to remove it from there site. The will not. I have therefore reported it to the Asa. who are now looking at the screen shot and all tickets from Quidco.

Yes it does.. And 6 months after the start of the policy wouldve been the 2nd october. IT COULD NOT BE CLEARER. You think it shouldve been done in september but you are WRONG.

They are right and im afraid that trading standards will agree with quidco as it quite clearly states when it will validate. If it has not done after the 6months then, as with all unvalidated purchases you have the right to open up a ticket and find out why it has not done so. Just because you do not understand how a month works does not mean that quidco or LV have done anything against what they have advertised, apart from it being a couple of days late

    Geordie .

Please read I have no intention of getting intouch with Trading Standards.

The Advertising Standards . ( They have alot more power )

Please note that your transaction will be validated after six months (from the policy start date). NOT VALIDATED . FALSE ADVERT . Been told it may be vailidated this month and to get back to Quidco on the 22nd.

    False and misleading advertising

Advertising can be a great source of information but it can also be used to mislead the unsuspecting consumer. You are protected from false and misleading advertising under the Fair Trading Act and the Trade Practices Act. Things that a seller cannot do include:
    • mislead or deceive you.
    • make false or misleading claims about goods or services.
    • pass off used goods as new.
    • advertise products with false endorsements.
    • claim that a product has benefits that it doesn't have.

But this happens all the time with quidco for one reason or another - computer problems your end, the link not registering, which is why they invite you to open an enquiry ticket to find out why this hasnt happenned.

Mistakes in computerland happen and whilst its annoying you can hardly call the advert missleading.

Also you started your enquiry in september which is BEFORE the stated time on the advert, got yoru knickers in a twist for nothing. Try being a little patient with them and you may find yoruo stress levels drop and you get what your owed.

It's all good and well being patient gerodieracer, but can I assume you're not one of us waiting an unreasonable amount of time for things to become paid? The advert for the Co-op Car Insurance I took out said it would take 3 months to be paid not to be tracked. Ditto MORE TH>N, ditto Sainsburry's Finance. It's taken 6 months for the Co-op to finally pay out. I'm still waiting for Sainsbury's Finance and there's no clue as to how long I'll have to wait for that. How is that not false advertising?

Your right im not cos ive given up hope with them. This is the merchants who are more than likely stalling on you rather than quidco so, whilst it is a pain in the ar5e for waiting to be paid out - im talking about rutha having a go way before it has said it would be validated - a WHOLE MONTH before.

now have any of you who are waiting for stuff to be paid actually spoken to the people who should be paying you i.e the merchant? i guess Quidco have thousands of transactions a day go through their website and if the merchants are letting them down with paying then, yes, they should be onto it, but from what it says on their site they only have a small staff and maybe they are overwhelmed as things start going wrong.

Remember its the merchant who advertises what you will get from cashback not quidco as they are merley a facilitator.

whilst i do feel sorry for those who are having problems my angst was directed at Rutha who cant seem to grasp what 6 months is in reality compared to what she thinks it is.

Yes, I know, but this may be a "lost in translation" problem as opposed to stubborness. Please remember ruthha isn't British so it's possible she simply misunderstood. I can't speak for her, it's just a possibility.

Yes, I personally have written to MORE TH>N, Sainsburry's Finance, Dial-a-Phone and The Co-op. I had a response from The Co-op stating it was a matter Quidco should deal with and then, lo and behold! I got the money a week later. I got a response from Sainsbury's Finance saying my letter had been passed onto Axa, but as yet I've had no reply. No responses from MORE TH>N or Dial-A-Phone, but it's interesting to note that both of these resolved themselves after I'd written. I suspect Quidco got a flea in the ear and were told to pay the money. I do not believe, for one moment, that the merchants are holding up the payment of monies to the cashback site as we have seen the same merchants pay out the same cashback amounts to customers on rival cashback sites months in advance of Quidco. It's not in the merchant's interests to hold back payments, but it is in Quidco's interest (in every meaning of the word!) to hold onto money paid from the merchant for as long as they possibly can. It simply does not add up that they take twice as long as other cashback sites to pay out, unless they're deliberately holding on to member's moneies while they accrue the interest on said monies.
i guess Quidco have thousands of transactions a day go through their website and if the merchants are letting them down with paying then, yes, they should be onto it, but from what it says on their site they only have a small staff and maybe they are overwhelmed as things start going wrong.
Having a small staff is neither here nor there; it's their responsiblility to ensure that all advertised payments are paid to the customer. Let's not forget that they charge £5 per member, per year. If they truely do have thousands of members, that's several hundred thousand pounds worth of revenue just from membership fees. Take into account any percentage of cashback they take en-route from the merchant to the customer and you're talking about a hell of a profit! Where's all this money going? Certainly not on customer service and clearly not on employing more staff. If they're truely overwhelmed at things going wrong (which is pretty telling in and of itself, don't you think? So many people complaining that they can't cope?) then their first priority should be to take on more staff.
Remember its the merchant who advertises what you will get from cashback not quidco as they are merley a facilitator.
Sorry, you're wrong. It's Quidco that advertise the cashback in the same way that it's Fat Cheese, TCB and any other cashback site that offers the cashback. If it were directly advertised by the merchant it would be their responsibility, but it's not, it's down to Quidco. The very fact that they advertise cashback will be paid within 3 months and, after you've purchased the service, then tell you it'll validate after 3 months, then it'll validate after 6 months and you may have to wait up to 9 months is a case of false advertising. They cannot palm off false advertising on the merchant as it's not the merchant advertising the cashback.
whilst i do feel sorry for those who are having problems my angst was directed at Rutha who cant seem to grasp what 6 months is in reality compared to what she thinks it is.
    See above.

As an update, I got a letter back from Dominic at the Sheffield office, despite my sending the letter to the flat in Dartford. Same response as before. Goes to show how little they think of their customers when you complain to the person who alledgedly owns the company and you get a response from the numpty who doesn't understand plain English!

I'll be sending off the Court forms in the next couple of days. Will keep anyone interested posted.
