yes agreed Qidco should at least explain to people what the situation is, but that still doesn't detract from the fact that no cashback site is 100% guaranteed.
You'd be a bit niave to think otherwise, else they wouldn't stipulate it in the t&c's.
Maybe a bit unfair but that's how it goes, you don't win them all0 -
I agree MrC. If 100% cashback rates aren't sustainable then sums need to be done (risk assessment) to see what the actual achievable rate would be.
Does it need to say 100% cashback rates??
Why not just cashback rates?? People would then shop around for the best prices/rates.
Cashback sites are away from their infancy days now and are involved in a big way in which online shopping is based.

Can you honestly say that the T&C's are fair??
That's the issue, nobody yet knows, it's never been tested as yet (AFAIK).
It's an assumption that the T&C's are correct/fair - that's all.

No I think if you read my posts you'll see I didn't say they were fair, just that the T&C's state that if the transaction is modified by the retailer then you won't get the amount you were expecting. I'm sure you'd all be jumping up and down in anger if they started paying you more than you thought you'd get??
If you don't like their terms and you don't agree with them, why the hell d'you bother using them? They are by their very nature a bit of a gamble0 -

What I mean is you, me and anyone can't say one way or other whether the T&C's are fair - it's still a grey area. I honestly don't even believe Quidco could possibly know if they were legally fair.
I do realise you never said they were fair, what I meant was can anyone really say they are fair (I mean 100% in the legal way) - if that makes sense??
I use cashback sites for what they advertise - nothing else really.

The co-op cashback didn't show up as the right amount in mine so i submitted a claim for the missing £20. They declined the £20 saying it would update to the correct amount, and within 2 days it had gone up to the correct £75.
I'm almost at the 90 day validation period so hope all's ok0 -
I too am still waiting on my Co-op Insurance. So far, I've been told that the amount would change from £54 to £70 "today", "shortly" and now it's "we cannot say when".
Despite me asking numerous times what Quidco have said to the Co-op and what the Co-op have said to Quidco, they seem reluctant to actually give me any details.0 -
Yeah, same here. Still at £54 as of today.
As I've been asked to stop posting in the other thread (presumably because Jules was "offended" by my enquiring posts!) I'll be posting in here. I'm hoping we can build up an overview of what people are owed and from which companies to see if there's a pattern emerging, or if it's random. This'll give everyone a better idea of who is actually to balme here; Quidco or the merchants.
Edit: I've just noticed something. There's a little box in the bottom right corner of the "Earnings" page. It's an ani-gif saying, "Are you renewing your car insurance? Beat the crunch and save up to £90 using Quidco!" So, let me get this straight; Quidco say you might not get your cashback, but they are advertising a saving of "up to £90"? Well, if you don't get the cashback, how is that a saving? That makes no sense at all!0 -
Still at £54 for me too.0
