Timescales can be fairly accurate as well...except when there is a possible problem either on the part of the user, affiliate network or something else outside of Quidco's control.
How many late payments have been caused by conflicting cookies, poor browser set-ups, affiliate networks not tracking properly and slow payment records etc.
Ideally if you post to complain about Quidco's performance, you should post the details of your ticket. I hate to call some people on here "numpties", but I would imagine a lot of problems have been caused by the above and if they can't admit to that, what's the chance of getting the truth about their "missed" or "lost" transactions.
If you check over the years of threads on MSE and I have been on here a number of years, you'll notice a trend where "older" MSE er's usually spell out any problems they've had, so newbies don't necessarily make the same mistakes.
Nowadays, newer posters just whinge, don't qualify their statements or set off on a glory trail trying to convince all and sundry they're "doing it for the small man".
I've yet to hear from a small man who's been helped.
I've read plenty of whinging from those who feel "abused and threatened", their words not mine for posting unsubstantiated tripe.
All we get now is in a whinging tone (yes as pointed, out tone can be determined from style of writing) that simple questions to determine effectiveness of a money retrieval campaign against someone doesn't get answered, that really it appears a process to inflate someone's own worth has gone belly-up and there's nothing to show for their legal threats, bluster etc. and they are now trying to hide their shame and lack of effect from others who "joined" their campaign and are starting to look stupid as well.
Open question (prompting a simple answer): what has RUTHHA's campaign achieved so far?I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

So what's Quidco's role in all this then? See to it that payments are made when merchants state they will be? Doesn't seem to be working all the time, does it?
What do the paying members of Quidco do in the meantime then, accept what's being said to them with nothing more than a few 'rolled eyes?'
Quidco are just the middlemen in all of this and it is they who provide a gateway to you using a merchant to gain cashback.
Cashback is an incentive for you to use a certain company for whatever product you are wanting to purchase be that insurance to buying stuff through ebay ( which is a small amount of CB but nice all the same if your using ebay anyway)
things can go wrong as with everything, from people not being able to count forward from a date they have bought something to what Torby outlines above with regards to a home browser set up or the affliates server problems.
the option to open an enquiry is there if you have a problem with your cashback and im pretty sure Quidco setlle most of these with the merchant as quickly as is possible, but again, things can go wrong but people will straight away jump up and shout 'scam' or 'fraud' when it may just be something simple as a computer glitch.one of the famous 50 -

what were some of the pointless questions?
what would you say was a pertinant question?
perhaps questions are being asked again and again as no answer is forthcoming?
did you think some of these questions are being asked to ascertain if she's actually done anything she has claimed to have done?
harassment as you choose to call it, is two sided
on a public forum, if you stand on a soapbox to campaign, you better have your facts to hand and demonstrate you don't have your own secret agenda
finally read my post no#467 and tell me whats wrong with what I have asked (or point out what questions have already been answered)
and Greggs slices are nice....lol...
Ah, so it's not just ruthha that declines to answer questions then? I'll play your game Torby; I won't answer your questions until you've answered mine. That OK with you? I feel like an MP!Sorry to butt in but I just read the above. I posted recently to say that I had received this ticket and have to agree with Fenris. If I had known the process from tracked to paid was going to take 6 months+ i would never have taken my car insurance with them but looked elsewhere. The difference between the quote they provided me compared to another was quite nominal, however, the cashback, proved to be 'the carrot', so to speak.
If a company promises me a little bonus/financial extra/reimbursement within a set time when I purchase or apply for something, I make damn sure that I receive that 'reward' as that's what made me sign me up in the first place. Why do Quidco think they've got the right to renege on a deal? - and I talk about the time issue, not that it won't be paid at all.
I, (quite stupidly), relied on this money coming through in a set time. It's obviously taught me not to rely on any payments Quidco say they will pay, so anything I do get is a bonus! That's not how it should work though...
Oh no, please, butt in! Take the conversation back on topic at last!
Like you, I relied on the £70 cashback from the Co-op (I'm going to get the same people state the same old twaddle again now  ) and it's been almost seven months from tracking to paid; that's assuming it will be paid at the end of this month. Quidco stated THREE months from tracked to paid. They then fed me a whole pile of BS when I opened tickets. They then came on here to say that the payment date had always been six months at the soonest. So, im my view, they're simply liers. They promise one thing and deliver something else. Had that been a physical item such as a DVD you wouldn't stand for it and you'd complain. Because Quidco hide behind their "cashback is not garunteed" "T&C" they think they're exempt from providing what they advertise.Fully agree - cashbacks are now a big business and now need regulated.
FWIW - does anyone NOT think it's time for regulation??
Mentioned above regarding TS laughing, but would they laugh??
What about AS??
Would AS laugh as well??
Of of the reasons I joined this great site was for knowledge of the "12 months free mobile deals" etc. and some of the cashback sites seem to operate on a similar basis. I believe it was P4U who were investigated by TS and maybe Ofcom and were heavily fined for underhand practices.
Maybe, just maybe it's time for a cashback site to be investigated and regulations put in place - my view only. Big, big business now and surely some sort of guidelines need put in place?? We fully rely on the honesty of these sites and can all be trusted?? They should be, but can they??
Lynsey
Yes Lynsey, I think Quidco should be regulated. I think all businesses who offer cashback should be regulated. In fact, due to the amount of money they process, I don't know why all cashabck sites aren't governed by the FOS. Seems odd to me.

I haven't shouted FRAUD or SCAM, neither is the problem I'm having a computer glitch. The vast majority of my payments are made when they say they will be. I just don't like the fact my payment with Sainsbury's won't be made until they have checked all oustanding transactions to check for anybody abusing the system.
Why do I have to wait 6 months+ for money that Sainsbury's/Quidco said I could have in 3 months? Why don't Quidco/Sainsbury's put their bums into gear and check on a month to month basis as opposed to letting something build up and then penalising everybody?
It's only £35, fair enough, but I'd still be annoyed if it was £5. There's no-one to complain to really, is there, to take things to a higher level or to keep Quidco in check. Lynsey's right, there should be some regulation to this.
The merchants can basically change the rules when they like and Quidco will hold their hands up and say, 'don't look at us, it's the merchants who dictate the terms'.It's wouldn't have not wouldn't of, shouldn't have not shouldn't of and couldn't have not couldn't of. Geddit?0 -
I never said you did shout that, but theres a lot out there who do.
I dont know about others transactions or why they do get changed but search this thread for the Quidco rep - her name is jules and then PM her about it...one of the famous 50 -
Fenris: feel free to ask any question I'm likely to have the answer to...simple
Fenris: smoke and mirrors to avoid answering, seems you've got the bug now as well.
Open question (prompting a simple answer): what has RUTHHA's campaign achieved so far?...anyone....there must be someone out there?
Avoid all you can by whatever excuses you can think of, you will however notice that ALL my questions are relative to the threads in question and the posts others have made,

see what I mean, you can't even ask a relevant question, simply hide behind waffle and join RUTHHA's merry men (or women)...no proof of achievement, no real policy, an unwillingness to face the truth about campaigns, avoiding simple, direct questions like "what has RUTHHA actually achieved?"
People are starting to see through the smokescreens, granted the blind will still follow and perhaps we should make excuses for them.
Perhaps if everyone asked the same, simple question?

Yeah me. This country has amongst the strictest consumer protection laws in the world.
Any more and you will find that cashback companies are stifled and forced out of business.0 -

But no consumer protection regarding a multi-million pound turn-over business???
You are entitled to you point of view obviously, and you must agree with the way cashback sites are currently run.
If cashback sites can't be run properly, then should they be in the cashback business in the first place??

Well for a start she has achieved the honour of Quidco asking her for her choice of venue for a meeting, so Quidco must either be worried or believe she is doing something right. Why has Quidco not just put ruthha on ignore as ruthha has obviously done to yourself??
Remember Torby, you also had the chance to meet Quidco..........or as ruthha might say, "Are you already there"?? (lol)
Will Quidco honour this meeting of ruthha's choice (prompting a simple answer)??

Do agree fair point, I think that cashback sites need regulating. I am getting lost by the number of acronyms! Please keep it simple and spell out who you mean as an infrequent user of trading standards it didn't come to me for quite a while who on earth you meant.0
