Morning all, I am on a bit later today as I wanted to make a good start with my fly lady, the office is looking m,uch better, I can see the desk top.
Pipkin I hope your picnic goes well, I looked into home ed but we decided against it at the time but am thinking about it again at the moment now the master is about to start nursery.
Thriftlady my blackberry muffins went down a treat.
Today we have spicy pork for dinner and Jacket potatoes, I am just using a levi Roots sauce. The kiddlies will probably have Jacket potatoes and cheesey beans.
I made bread in the bread maker last night and it was very sweet almost like a cake, I put in 1.5 teaspoons like the recipe stated, any help would be gratefully recieved.
Very Grey here today so I have put the washing out but I am keeping a close eye on the clouds, yesterday it rained all day but the Master had great fun playing in the puddles while I walked the pooch. Another NSD today I find avoiding the shops really helps and meal planning has made sure I have everything I need in the cupboards.
Have a good day all.

Morning everyone
Seems like quite a few of us did not have a good night last night - I did not sleep very well - back pain now gone into my shoulder _pale_- had to take some co-codamol for that and worrying about my DS ---and my DD who has been in hospital for the last 2 days - she is diabetic and has been getting stomach pains they are awaiting a CT scan - they think she might have gallstones. One day I'll stop worrying about everyone - I just want them to be happy and healthy.
Am having Mexican Chicken - with potato wedges for dinner tonight.

Good morning peeps!
Sun is shining here, hope it lasts as kids' pool is now dry and needs folding and putting away somewhere - need to find a home for it (for anyone on facebook there are pics there, and you can easily see that I'm rubbish at estimating sizes, as it completely took over my garden!)
Need to sort out some washing, yet again! Towels today I think and some of my stuff, kids can presort their stuff - if it doesn't make the wash basket I'm not doing it, and I'm certainly not picking it up from their bedroom floors! Hmmm, perhaps Celyn isn't the only one feeling rebellious and in need of coffee!
Dinner tonight will be the meatball and chorizo thing from Economy Gastronomy - looks really good, and was dd3's choice, so hopefully it'll work well. Will take some round to OH on my way to work and bung it in his fridge for his dinner too, that way I can get another opinion and build up brownie points after all the work he did on the garden for me!
It's been lovely having the SC going again so much, and will be popping the brisket I defrosted in there later, ready for dinner tomorrow. Will be doing a roast, as perhaps 3 days of sloppy food is getting a bit much (moroccan stew, sausage casserole then meatballs in sauce tonight). Have also promised dd3 pineapple upside down cake made in the Lakeland tin (six individual pineapple shapes!) for pud tomorrow, as I got 2 enormous pineapples reduced to 15p each yesterday. Also grabbed 3 bags of organic limes reduced to 11p each, think I have enough lime pickle so will chop and freeze ready for g&ts - might manage to make a sorbet too if I get my ice cream bowl into the freezer later, hmmm another job, but I love sorbet!
OS stuff will be minimal aside from cooking today, as need to go to the shops for chorizo (sure there was some in the fridge, just don't know who ate it, oh or the kids!) and some spaghetti and some more fruit and juice. Apparently Lidl's have cheap caulis at the mo, so will pop in there as cauli cheese will go nicely with tomorrow's brisket and roasties. Yes, I know what you're thinking, and yes it's true, I do spend and inordinate amount of time thinking about food!
Kids can do some hoovering and tidying for their chores tonight whilst I'm at work, funny how they actually get on with it at the mo without too much prompting or nagging - not even close to pocket money day either????
But before I do anything else I shall be having a coffee, reading on here and then catching up with a bit of sleep - gee it's great to be back at work!
Have a great day all xxx
Jackie - I love reading about your family, I so so so wish my children had a granny like you, actually I'd like a mum like you!
Celyn - are your waffles knitted ones or edible like the sushi?! Hope that things work out ok for your phd candidate - not good if they've made lots of errors though.
Redruby - good luck with the viewing, hope that another buyer comes along soon, or that the first lady's chain repairs itself!
Kaatlady and Gingham Ribbon - many happy returns to you both should you pop in here!
Pipkin - may the sun shine brightly on your picnic, and all the others taking place. Home ed was something I too thought about a lot, there used to be quite a strong local network when I lived in Worthing. But ultimately I decided school would be best for ds, and then the girls just followed him, though I'm still trying to work out whether it has been best for dd2. I hope that the government try to do what is best for the children and rethink any mad and paper shuffling based rules!
Kathy - hope that dh gets the house jobs all done before your visitors arrive. Have you been back and done any more rummaging in the second hand place yet?
Diva - looking forward to the pics, and just to say that Tris is still in my prayers x
Oh, and welcome to all the new posters who have popped up recently, lovely to see you all!
Right, coffee and readthrough now, and need to check amazon to see if oh's puppetry of the penis books have been dispatched yet (I might be in for a very interesting weekend if they have!), or more importantly whether my espresso machine is on it's way yet (darned French people getting me addicted to Illy!) xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Morning Everyone
I am experiencing my first morning ever of being home alone! All four of my tinies are now at school and OH is at work and the only sound I can hear is the radio.I've spent so long watching kiddy progs that not having the telly on is really strange. But thankfully I've got plenty of cleaning and laundry to keep me busy for the forseeable future lol
I've had a minor disaster with my Yoghurt this morning as it came out of the machine and into the strainer as per normal but it went right through!Hmm not sure what happened but I've added some more dried milk and stuck it back in the yoghurt maker and hoping for the best
Washing is on the line and another load is waiting patiently to be pegged out but with the look of the skies I might wait an hour or so.My bed has been stripped and the bedding will be the next load in the washer.Front room and dining room need polishing and windows cleaning.I've also got MD's new duvet cover to finish sewing.I somehow managed to get the thread on the bobbin snarled up so need to spend ten minutes cutting it off and reloading it grrr.Bought some nice christmas card toppers yesterday so might make a start on the Christmas cards later.Do you get the idea kids or no kids I have a busy itinerary
MSD-Love the post it fair made me chuckle:rotfl:

:hello: Good morning!
Have just been out the front to retrieve 2 recycling bins and put the others out, and almost put my face into a spider's web _pale_ i suppose I'll have to remove it with the broom, but I bet the spider will only make another in the same place
Haribo Junkie - Hope you feel a bit better today x
(((HUGS))) taplady, the remembrance garden is a lovely idea.
Pippa S. - Congrats on having an an official DGS :j I hope it mitigates your sadness just a little x

mioliere - Have you got some form of heating available for when it gets colder? i do hope so! Autumn definitely seems to have arrived here, so it's back to the jeans and jumpers for me.
Celyn - What a shame about the thesis - will you have to tell the author to start fom scratch, do you think
tired mum - Thinking of you, hope you're doing okay x
Welcome to our new posters!
(((HUGS))) to everyone who's not well or looking after poorly family members.
I know there were other people I meant to mention but can't remember now so will come back later if I remember
Yesterday for dinner we had the bacon chops I'd meant to cook on Monday (went to chippy instead), with champ and cauliflower. I hadn't made champ before and I probably didn't make it the proper way, but it was very nice
Today we'll have a sweet chilli stirfry using peppers, the rest of the spring onions, and the rest of the cauliflower which was an awkward size for 2 people - too much for one meal, but not quite enough for two meals - still, it was only 39p in Lidl
Will need to get a chicken breast or a pork shoulder steak to stirfry as well.
Got a load of towels just finishing off in the WM - not sure if it's worth trying to get them dry outside, it looks awfully damp out there though not actually raining0 -
Money_saving_Diva wrote: »Reverbe - Forgive me for saying but that is the 3rd time you have said you cannot get pms due to not wanting to delete an email from Martin and presumably 40+ others.. I think the suggestions last time pretty much said the same thing; Copy paste it to a Word document or notebook or even an email to yourself and then you can save it and all the other 45 special emails you don't want to get rid of. That way you won't have to keep explaining why your pm box is full all the time!
Thanks for the tip. I actually have never seen any of those suggestions... I have a few from Martin and a lot of other ones with lovely messages in from other msers and also ones with peoples addresses in which I'd like to keep in case I have anything else I can send them. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Hi all,not too bad a day here at all, just been out with the dog.I've got a shoulder of pork in the slow cooker,so thats tea sorted.I may chop up some butternut squash to roast in the Remoska-I bought 4 from Aldi as they were on offer,we all love soup made with it so I can make a great big batch and freeze some too.
Essex girl- know how you feel not having the house to yourself :rotfl:.Todayfor the first time in weeks ,there is only me in.Dh & DS2 are starting a conservatory next week, but are 'resting' this week,so DS2 is going to the Snow dome,DH is getting prices for another job he has to price up and DS1 has gone on the train to Manchester to a job agency, fingers crossed there may be something. He's been unemployed for 9 months now,and had to have a review at the job centre yesterday,so asked about starting up a business-he has been designing T-shirts and hats to keep himself occupied,so they are putting him in touch with someone at the local Business Link and sending him out a pack of info. They also have workshops,so have put him down for that too,its worth investigating the possibilities even if he decides not to go ahead.
DH has promised to take me to Preston tomorrow as there is a new fabric store opened-Abakhan,so looking forward to that. They have all been taking the mickey out of me since I got my new sewing machine,I'm squirreled away upstairs stitching away.If poss I want to build up a bit of a stash of fabric as its a bit hit and miss getting it around here.
Right ,enough waffle, must make the most of an empty house!
Pippa S- great news about your DGS.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0
