Morning all.
It's looking a bit dull here, but I hope it's brightens up, as we are going to a 'Not back to School' picnic, to raise awareness of Home Education and to gather support against the proposals the government want to impose on us and our children.
There are going to be several picnics around the country, so if you're flagged down by a woman in a wheelchair handing out a home ed leaflet, it might be meThe finale is plenty of bubble blowing by the children. My two have bubble guns, because at their age, it's not cool to be standing there blowing them
I was a bit naughty last night, and didn't put the WM onbut it's done now. I've also put a pork joint in the SC, so no rushing around when we get back from the picnic.
Enjoy your day all. I'm going to have a quick MSE browse, before I get DDs up at 9There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -

Good morning everyone. A bit late on here today because DH is home working on the house - more mess and noise! At least it's being done, though.
Happy Birthday, Kaat Lady!
Well, it's cold and wet here today in 'sunny' France. I can't stop shivering. Dinner tonight will be chicken casserole - I have a really meaty carcass that needs using up so I'll just bung a few veggies in with it. Ideal food in cold weather, I think!
Anyway, hope you all have a good day.

Hey Pipkin, what are the govt proposing re home ed? I seriously considered it for my kids when the eldest was about 6. So glad OH talked me out of it though. It may have been a good thing for the kids but it would have driven me mad :D Still, I'm all for it -choose what's best for your child I say.
OH was complaining of being cold last night, well, so was I so we ended up putting the heating on for a bit. I was trying to hold off till October. This morning OH says he feels shaky and has a headache. I do hope it isn't what I think it is:rolleyes: oink oink:(
Breakfast- bread, jam and granola
Lunchboxes -ham sandwiches, apples, grapes, choc biscuits
Supper -not sure yet. Some sort of veggie casserole that can be left while I do the swimming run with dd.
Got my washing hung out already;) Must do some ironing today:rolleyes:
Have a good one all.0 -
Just popping in to say a quick good morning (I'm at work  )
I am really getting in to this money saving thing! I am spending more time in the kitchen but we are having some fab meals. I have done a weeks meal plan, using mostly things from the freezer - it is soooo much easier when I get in from work everyday and know what is for tea. No last minute trips to the shops!
TODAY
Breakfast - weetabix and banana
Lunch - ham and beetroot (home made) sandwich
Dinner - Jacket potatoes, roasted veggies and leftover chicken
Tonight I am planning on catching up with the ironing and making some more soup in the slow cooker for lunches next week.
Have a great day all x0 -

Well, they want to dictate what we can teach - most likely the curriculum, decide who can or can't educate their own children, come into the home and talk to the children with no other adult present and stick us all on a database, which we have to register with yearly. There is also the assumption we are all child abusers with no innocent until otherwise.
I can see why some proposals have been made, but as for others, I don't. There are quite a few planned events against Badman's report and today's picnic is one
Totally agree it's finding what's best for your children thriftlady. Home ed isn't for everyone. Thankfully it worked really well for my children, but there was always the option of them going to another school if it didn't work out. Mind you, there are days the girls - especially when they're arguing - drive me crazy tooThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. Morning all.:coffee:
Rotten night's sleep last night, not helped by Hubby having to put the bedroom lights on at 6am to crash around in search of clean underpants. How a grown man still doesn't know where his pants live after 14 years of them being in the same drawer in the same chest of drawers in the same position in the bedroom is beyond me. Also, he's supposed to get his clean clothes out the night before if he's got an early start and put them in the bathroom...
Bah grump mutter....that's me down an hours sleep then.
Not sure what The Plan is today. Plenty to do of course but not motivated to do any of it. I need to attack either DS's or DD's bedrooms and that's enough to demotivate anyone, belive me. Also need to clean the stairs which is even worse.
One thing I do actually want to do is to turn out the freezer. I'm sure I have meat for casserole down in it so might get myself organised to try out the new SC tomorrow. There's an elderly can of Guinness emerged from a dark corner of the booze cupboard so might make beef in Guinness, if I can find some beef. Otherwise it will be lamb hotpot, because I know I have lamb.
Will go and have a shower and see if I can get into gear...Val.0 -

I dip in and out of meal planning seasideshack, but yes it definitely seems easier when you know what you're having for tea, and has the benefit of saving you reaching for the phone to takeaway [although not always]

Morning everyone :hello:
Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork today . And then possibly some more paperwork.
House is swished but not yet swiped, washing on the line (beautiful blue skies) and dog is about to be walked. Want to wash a couple of old jumpers at 90 degrees to felt them and turn them into handbags.
Tea will be Thai green curry for OH and me and chicken rissotto for the girlies.
Need to get to the wool shop to exchange the wool I bought for OH's jumper as I've worked out that I need 14 balls and the jumper will end up costing £56 .
Thanks for some lovely pms ladies (and gent). You'll all be pleased to know that there is still plenty of room in there so keep em coming.
Pipkin, I really admire home eders. With my two in the mood they were this morning I am delighted that they are someone elses problem for the next 6 hours.;):D
Valk_scott... My Oh has finally learned to find his pants but has yet to master the art of aiming them anywhere near the laundry basket when he takes them off.
Ruby... I hope OH kept his slurping to a dull roar last night.
Have fun everyone
Haribo x0
