TM said that the comments I made upset her and made her not want to post again
you said "don't let those comments upset you" so I said it appeared you were referring to me
but instead of explaining to me what you may have been referring to
once again you choose to insult0 -
Franky i have nothing else to say to you your so far up your own !!!!!! its untrue, and your just getting on my tits right now.Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

Ticklemouse, I too would like to apologise if any of my comments have upset you. I feel bad that a discussion has left you feeling this way.
As I said earlier, I respect your strength of opinion, even although I hold a different view.
I'm sure none of the contributors to this thread would have wished to have upset you.
Your last statement says:
'What a great place chat forums would be if we all felt and thought the same.'
With respect, did you think everyone would have the same opinion when you started the thread? You invited comment on this subject as soon as you made your first post, although I agree that the tone of the replies may well be questionable in some cases.
This has been an interesting and thought provoking subject and it was bound to bring differing opinions, some as strong as your own. I completely understand the point you made in your last post about how you were thinking that some people may have been affected by the showing of the film. I just didn't agree that it was worthy of complaint, but that doesn't make me right and you wrong. It just means we look at things from a different angle. You explained how you felt in your post and I, along with others explained our feelings on the matter.
Please don't feel picked on, you raised a point you felt strongly about, you are completely right to post your feelings and to defend your opinion should you want to, as are the people who disagreed with you.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Don't beat yourself up Franky - you voiced an opinion and had every right to do so.You never know how far you can fly, till you spread your wings.0

Can we stop hurling abuse at each other? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions about the subject we were discussing but we don't need to start insulting individual people.
I have apologised for the way the comments I made earlier were written, how about the rest of you do the same? Then we can all move on.
Please don't hold grudges because of this discussion.student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0 -
God Lord you lot type quick!
There's loads more posts since I started typing mine.
I don't think anyone needs to apologise for having an opinion.
I do think that we should all be careful of the tone of our posts though. There are neutral ways to say things so that they come across as a genuine comment and not a picky one.
And that's not directed at anyone. I think we've all had a valid point to be honest.Herman - MP for all!0 -
well aliasjo
you probably have a better way with words than I do, or you,ve been around longer so people will listen to you,
I too just wanted to state my opinion and in my first post actually agreed it may have been upsetting and actually said that I thought student had been abrupt,
but I was trying to point out that inviting the people of a forum as large as this to all email SKY and complain without stating the full facts was wrong,
that's my opinion and I'd like to think I was as entitled to state it as anyone,
this is the internet
we can't all right prettily, some of us write as we see it, and people should read and respect other peoples opinions without taking them too personally, and 3rd parties should be wary of jumping in with rude and derogatory comments, they don't know who they may be hurting
we are all presumably adults here and heated debates are part of adult life
I certainly don't think I said anything here I wouldn't have said in a discussion on this at my local bar,
I wouldn't have intentionally hurt anyones feelings at all
but would like to think my opinion is worth as much as anyone elses even if it did hurt
so sorry TM no intentional hurt meant0 -
I've got this on DVD and ran it through earlier, as a previous poster has said the clip in the film was not about a tsunami so you couldn't have seen one mentioned in the film,
Definition
tidal wave
1 an extremely large wave caused by movement of the earth under the sea, often caused by an earthquake

http://dictionary.cambridge.org/so have you exaggerated this in order to make a topic for a thread??
whether it was meant as an accusation or not only you know but it does read as one IMOand you also encouraged others to call sky and complain about this, without giving the true facts ??
TM did not encourage anyone but did ask if anyone was,it's not the same thing ,she also listened when others said they didn't feel the same way as her :-/why not just admit you over reacted, as many might and really it wasn't as bad as you thought,
I'm sure anyone waiting for news of loved ones in Asia would hardly have sat down and watched Bruce Almighty anyway and if they had SKY quite rightly issued a warning
Why does TM have to admit anything ,she posted as she felt at that time ..............I watched it and I didn't see any warning myself so others could of missed it too0 -
All points taken on board franky.
Unfortunately the thing about the internet as we all know, is that we don't see the emotion behind a written post. This means that a straightforward and to the point comment can sometimes come across as a little more curt or abrupt than it was intended to be read. :-/
I think too, that since this was clearly a subject close to the op's heart that perhaps there was more than a little emotion involved.
As for the 3rd party thing, I think most people on this site support everyone else and if you are feeling down about something, then someone will usually rally to support you. I think Rushnowt just wanted to provide support to TM since she was obviously upset.
As I've already said, everyone is entitled to air their opinion, no opinion is wrong, only different.
I think that the very fact that we have all apologised for the upset caused to TM, proves that out only intent was to engage in an interesting discussion, not to cause upset.
I think we should all let this one go now and hope that TM feels better about things soon.Herman - MP for all!0
