For someone particularly not 'into' mobile phones (never have been really) I need some advice/guidance please. A while ago I had an HTC Desire HD phone which a friend gave me. She had a package from O2 which allowed her a circle of friends to text or call her free anytime so it was great. A couple of months ago, however, I had it stolen and didn't think much of it as I hardly used it anyway (it was PAYG if calling anyone else, which didn't expire but I could top up whenever/if I needed to).
I am now talking to someone on FB who wants to talk to me on a mobile probably by text, so I have just spent the last hour or two hunting around for a free SIM card for my basic, NON smart phone which is PAYG, has as many texts as possible, NO Internet (my phone couldn't work it even if I wanted it but I don't!) and no international calls, at least not packaged and finally a PAYG that doesn't expire. Don't know about the rest of you but I can't afford to pay in £5 or £10 and then find it all disappears when the month ends!
So a free PAYG sim with as many texts as possible for £5 a month, £10 at the very most, where the minutes carry over as long as I have credits left. Is there such a beast anywhere and if so where please?
ANY help/assistance/guidance blah blah gratefully accepted.
Cheers, Nick0 -

I highly recommend going Pay as you go..
I have discovered Lebara and now I safe 50% than what I used to when I was a Contract user with O2.. from so many pay as you Go SIM Providers I decided to give Lebara a try as I was told the quality of the calls were high quality especially when calling abroad as you do from time to time..
For Years I used to pay £45 a month and when it was time to renew I decided to shop around look at what pay as you go were offering.. I'm SOOOOO Glad I did as now I get more for only £15 on the Lebara UK Plus Bundle which gives you:
Unlimited SMS/Text
1000 UK Minutes
3GB Mobile Data
Free Calls and SMS to other Lebara numbers
To be honest I don't make that many calls but I do send a heck of a lot of SMS and use Data on the go.. Just to think I used to pay £45 a month and only get 2GB Data allowance and now I pay £15 for 3GB and not only that.. My partner did the same and now we both make a mayor saving a month!
The best thing off all we don't ever have to manually Top Up each month as that would of put us off.. but we simply setup a Monthly Top Up and since we have a Bundle it Automatically renews every month so we don't have to do nothing apart from enjoy a great service which seems not many people here know about so we just wanted to share a good thing with you all.
Can't recommend the Service and the Lebara UK Plus Bundle enough! :T0 -
You sound like a Lebara sales agent, and your username looks alarming.
Very few people use mobiles to call abroad directly, and there are many indirect methods that are much cheaper than Lebara.
You don't make that many calls? Why do you pay for 1000:eek: minutes then? And why did you pay £45:eek: when unlimited data and 5000 texts cost £12.90 on a 1-month contract at Three?
Giffgaff use the same O2 signal and give you unlimited data and texts for £12.
That said, some Lebara bundles are indeed pretty competitive.0
