does anyone have a list of the comapanies affiliated with ultralase who get a discount ?

or any idea of their special offer frequency.

i know they are more expensive, but life long after care is surely worth the extra !

I think that from youatwork.com, they offer 20% off if you say you work at computershare

I have been told by Ultralase that i can get a measly £50 off if a friend recommends me and that the friend will receive £20. I suppose £50 discount is better than nothing. Can anyone help me out?
I wish I'd known that Ultralase is the most expensive before I'd booked my consultation!

you have just booked a consultation, therefore you are not obligated to have surgery with them. Depending on the clinic you will probably start receiving offers in the next few months for more money, especially if you sign up online.
shop around and try to evaluate the experience of the surgeons and success rates

I went for the consultation today and was very impressed. It's difficult for me to get more time off work to go elsewhere. I was there for about 2 hours having various tests. The most expensive treatment (that I'm leaning towards) will cost me £3590. I called in Optical Express who said that if I was suitable it woud cost £1500 for same treatment!

Im having a consult on sat at oe, however there are lots of discounts available on ebay, from £500 off optimax and upto £150 off oe, however you need the daeails before you book a consult at optimax. The people selling them get a referal fee from the company, but they will refund you the cost of buying (usually 99p) when you have the surgery. What do you have to lose.

Ive got details for a £50 off at oe, once ive seen if im suitable i will get quotes from others as well.

I've found out why my quote ot OE was so much less than Ultralase. A different laser (Intralase) is used by Ultralase automatically. OE also use this in some circumstances but cost would be at least £1500 per eye so not that much difference in cost after all if I opt for this procedure.Seems to have quicker recovery and better results.

Ultralase use the Bausch and Lomb laser if i am correct to do the laser treatment, and they use intralase (laser cutting) to create the flap for LASIK.

OE offer use of a VISX S4IR excimer laser to do the surgery. They can create the LASIK flap by either using laser (intralase) or by a specialised hand tool called a microkeratome (which is cheaper).

Both offer wavefront which is used by the same lasers.

Most experience factor to consider is the experience of the Surgeon. No good having the best technology if the Surgeon is not experienced in its use, better to have a highly experienced surgeon who knows his equipment very well (IMHO). BTW from my detailed research i found both lasers to be equally good.
