Wilf that is great advice and I am sure there are many people who can relate to it.
The key thing is baby steps in whatever task you set and celebrating what has been achieved rather than what hasn't.
I had got to the totally overwhelming stage due to many reasons and now am employing the dot2dot method which helps me. It can be a bit of a scattergun approach at times but for me the absolute key is once two dots have been joined up then KEEP them joined up! I bottomed the kitchen and by and large it has stayed that way since. My hall and stairs have been conquered and I even have an empty ironing basket which valli will tell you is NOT situation normal, or wasn't very long ago, in our house.
tinkerbells mum you are in the right place, everyone here is supportive and no one will judge, good luck with your imminent move.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
I had a dramatic halt to my HHC about 15 mins ago. Was doing really well, even though I found that most of the clothes on my chair were OH's! I saw the window cleaners arrive (they are really sparkly and new now
) and went to the cash point around the corner to get some money for them as we have missed them the last few times and so owe them. I got the message please try again later so I popped into the post office (we are really lucky as everything is close by for errands etc), tried the first card...declined, tried joint acc card...declined. Needless to say I was panicking and sprinted back to ring the bank. Apparently Nationwide customers trying to get money from any non-Nationwide machine is having the same problem, relaxing slightly now. Their nearest machine is 3 miles away and I am not wasting petrol money just for that so I will wait for them to work again and the window cleaners will have to wait until OH gets in for their money.
Rant over, feel a bit happier and calmer now. Bedroom is tidy, clothes put away. I need to put my clothes away from the spare room too but I am going to have some lunch first.
Wilf55 how did your HHC go? You are whizzing just as much as me :TMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

TinkerbellsMum, I can’t help much but as AJ said the HHC’s are fab – it’s amazing how much you can get done in a short time if you really try. Re the washing – I’ve got into a routine with mine, try to get the washing ready in the machine, powder in, and then when you get up you can start it straight away by just pushing on button! Saves having to think early in the morning! Just an idea anyway. You will get there, babysteps and all that
thanks hun the washing machine thing is a great idea can put it on when i get up and hopefully can take it out when zac has his nap at 9.300 -

I agree - been flylady-ing for 3 weeks now - can't believe the difference it's made. HHCs are good too for a quick sweaty blitz round!

This morning I've been out doing my voluntary work, had a nice time. Then on th way home went the PO to do things there - DIVA: I've sent you the lavender, it's unusually wrapped as I'd already thrown the packaging away so it's coming to you in a box that had meringues in! lol!
Going to have a nap now as am very tired, but before that I will get the WM ready to start, put away dry washing, and put away dry washing up, so I can get on with stuff when I get up

Afternoon all
Seriously getting nowhere today. It didn't take long for the kids to be back at school and me to be swamped by their routines, homework etc.
I have spoken to the head of Maths this morning - DS1 to get a right talking to later and the golf clubs will either be out of bound or wrapped around his head!
Picked up some paint colour charts for DS2
I've got pilates shortly, a visit from my Mum after school (never look forward to this as we just don't get on) and then I need to get DS1 sorted for DofE.
DH is in Germany until Late Friday night so no relief at all.
