I have hoovered downstairs, cleaned out the chickens and very little else.

Finally got round to reading a baking book my lovely FIL bought for me just before I went on the diet. Anything that has the original twinks in has to to be good! I have a banana and yoghurt cake in the oven, and some garibaldi as an experiment.

Been to postbox & shop. Bought yogurt & sunday paper... plan on reading the sunday paper while listening to the radio for a bit...

then I might do the mowing/chop down the eucalyptus (again)/bring in the washing/do the ironing.

As this is my last week before going back to work, I think I need to get into a morning/evening routine. I have to drop my car off at 8am tomorrow anyway, and I'm in London again (learning how to make model handbags out of icing...!), so it'll be a good start to the week.

  • I have tonight finished writing my 101 in 1001 list (even thought I started some of it a couple of weeks ago). Now I need to decide if I'm going to start a blog or not ........
I haven't even started writing my list yet! :o

Hex, your DH’s back sounds terrible, poor you having to cope with all that when your baby was born, hope he doesn’t hurt himself again, I can see why you don’t want him to overdo things

Hugs Fedup, he’s an idiot if he’s not spending time with you. Have you got any friends nearby – go and have some fun with them, he’s not worth sitting around moping for. The new dog sounds like a great idea.

Triker, you have done loads, well done!

    Toochoosy Luuuuurrrrvvve those shoes! Drools

CyclingYorkie nice that your OH has springcleaned the dining room, what a nice surprise!

Re Lefthandedness: My sister is a leftie and also dyslexic – I agree with Pigpen about the clashing of elbows, we always had to sit with my left arm next to her right arm, if we sat the other way round we would always be bashing each other! She got herself left handed scissors, a fountain pen, and secateurs (she’s a gardener), I think she got a leftie ruler and other stuff but can’t remember what else. My Nan is a leftie so gave her a catalogue and she chose stuff that would be useful for herself. Oh, I think she got a tin opener as well, not sure on that one. I remember her complaining that the bread knife was the wrong way round. Oh, and she is obsessively tidy. Funnily enough I eat lefthanded, but she eats righthanded! Knitting – my Nan was taught to knit righthanded so she was able to teach me but not my sister! Weird huh!

A buzz of flyladies, or maybe a chatter of flyladies

Hugs Zoe after your horrible dream

    Hugs MOAM and DH

Bad day today, we've had to cancel DH's sister coming (again), altho we've got further than we did last time she was due to come, at least the house is more or less clean this time. Maybe next time we will get there! It just needs a good hoover through - will do that in the morning. Feeling a bit better now than I did earlier, am trying very hard to relax and not be stressed.

I enjoyed Strictly last night, sooo relieved Rav didn't get voted out altho it was a close call

  • triker what about a pretty filofax-type-thing as a present? Or a multi-tool swiss army knife type thing? You can get girly ones.

  • fedup sorry to poke my oar in, but DH reckons a person in your situ is entitled to some of the equity in the house (there is some?). You don't need to have been married or have the mortgage in joint names.

jo hugs, I totally can relate to that, and being a single, working parent is jolly hard - esp coping with a new job into the bargain.

in terms of collective nouns, what about a sparkle of flyladies?

eta michelle I hadn't realised you had resigned, but congrats on making that decision.

Grateful - the worktop ideally needs to be two lots of 3 metre and one 4 metre so if we get it he has to get on with it. I would prefer to finish the bathroom first. If we are ever to manage to re-mortgage the kitchen and bathroom will have to be done though so I can see why he wants it.

Toots - I agree that it will get dirty although it nees re-sanding after installation anyway. On past form it will also get pinched for something else. I will come home to new worktops in the garage or something.

Rosepink - I look back now and wonder how we managed to come through it all. We know it will eventually go again which is why the progress is slow but constant on this place. One of the reasons we bought it is that it is adaptable to ground floor living if need be .

The garibaldi are ok - not as nice as the shop ones to quote DS1 who still ate most of them . Need to roll them thinner next time I think.
