Weekly Flylady Thread 14th September 2009

Evening ladies.
I apologise for being a hopeless correspondent over the last few days. But I have things on my mind and when I have things on my mind I sort of hibernate. I promise to do better in future.
Have only skim read today's thread and I noted that Triker needs some extra get well vibes and hugs. I also think the most appropriate collective noun is a buzz of flyladies...
Had DiL's parents over for dinner this evening which was nice (and I was really proud of the cracking profiteroles that I made from scratch!). But, best of all, they took DiL's bike away to store in their garage! The bike has been in the hallway to my bedroom for about 3 years. I keep stubbing my toe on it and cursing loudly etc.
I think since she bought it, DiL has ridden it about three times. I did ask her what she was planning to do with it about 6 months ago and she said she was thinking of giving it to a friend. I have not mentioned it since (but have probably been heard cursing about it as another toe got stubbed!). So that came as a real surprise when they were leaving and DiL's Dad said "shall I put that bike in the car and take it home?"
Result!
Hugs to all. I promise I'll try and keep up in future xxxI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Her expectations would be that we provide the car and pay for the insurance too.....she watches too much MTV!
How about you get her the licence and she has to earn the lessons??
Being pleasant and doing her chores.. and extra chores = extra lessons.
I'm thinking of getting DS1 a passport for his 18th.. it is vital for proof of ID in almost everything now so will be very useful and also it is valid for 10 years so would be a long-lasting present and should he become rich he can go abroad.... I would love someone to buy me a passport or driving lessons..
Oh.... I got my bumf through from uni today.. start next Monday.. have to be in at 9:30.. with 3 or 5 lots of Id of the whole list I can manage maybe 2.. no passport, no driving licence, no credit card, paperless billing.... all makes for a difficult life!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Quillion excellent idea and we would except DD1's attitude has been horrible just lately, so we're thinking that she needs to earn a little bit of respect back by being a better human being.

Way back in the day when i turned 17 i had my licence from my Nan and Grandad, 3 driving lessons from my mum and dad and 3 from my bf. I had 17 lessons then my test and passed first time.
I bought my own car and got my own insurance so i could build up no claims. No-one ever given me a car / and i would not expect them too. Kids today !! they need to learn the values. I dread it when mine gets to the demand stage lol

It is hard being single and childless when all your friends are busy doing 'family' type things,
Definitely! I seem to have to do things alone unless I can face taking my mother!Still young then! Plenty of time to do lots of things with your life (and it may not be too late for kids either if everything else falls into place). I'm a couple of years older than you and I still haven't found someone I'd want to have children with - I know it's leaving it late, but I don't want to settle for someone just because it means I can have a family as I know that would make me unhappy in the end. But I do have to try not to let myself become a hermit (which I'd probably be quite happy with !)
Ditto! And I'm older than fedup too!....but yes life does go on 35+
So there is some hope then ..............Greenbee.. We have 3 tents here should they be required..
And I have one - it's pink and purple(I may have mentioned before!)

He is 9 and has just adapted to the right handed world, as I guess most lefties do!!! I havent bought any left handed things, he has just managed and done a great job too!!!
I'm the only left-handed one in my family and, yes, you do have to adapt and can manage ........ but, things became MUCH easier when I got left-handed scissors, a tin-opener that works both ways, and a few other bits. I can cut with right-handed scissors but left-handed ones make a big difference. IMHO, anything that makes things easier has to be good ...... My dad never understood why until the day he picked up my scissors by accident and tried cutting with them!
I have tonight finished writing my 101 in 1001 list (even thought I started some of it a couple of weeks ago). Now I need to decide if I'm going to start a blog or not ........"There's only one way of life and that's your own" - Levellers

evening/middle of the night all. Sposed to be sleeping but just woke up after baaaaaaaaad nightmare/flashback thingy and now cant get back to sleep so i thought i'd catch up with some of the thread and make the sani's/pack lunches for tomorrow/todays adventure to safari park...i will not be paying 6quid for fish an chips x4!!! Had to have a dig about in the cubords and fridge to see what i've got for mondays pack lunches(not a fat lot) as usual i've left it to late, cant get delivery tomorrow/today as they want to come between 3-5 or5-7 and we wont be back lol and mondays early morning slot is full so its a 10-12 slot. I've just about managed to scrap together a decentish lunch though, found some little pots of custard, some mini pain chocolate, still got some 'nanas and apples and enough sani stuff dor the obvious. Think when we get in after the safari park and get the kids to bed I will stick on a batch of cakes/cookies. I'm stuck with their lunchs though! The school are really strict on what they can take in, any ideas anyone?
right-
Triker-DD's birthday, My parents(seperated) paid for my provisional licence and a block course of 10 leasons between them. I think lessons are a fantastic idea and if you tell her to save any money she gets for her birthday/doin a job etc when shes passed if she has enough, can then(money permiting)buy herself a little run around and or her oen insurance. When i was doing this my step dad and mum offered that whatever i saved for the car/extra lessons etc he would double. Therefore if i saved £50, he would top it upwith another 50. I know i wouldnt be able to this cus obviously its a big outlay of money but it might get her saving to pay for her own stuff. Even if you say for every £10 you save i'll give you a quid, it will motivate her!
Re-LEFT HANDEDNESS! I'm a lefty, and apart from what piggers(think it was piggers anyway) said about desks etc i've not had to buy anything special adapted to lefties, I've adapted really well. The biggest problem at school was making sure i sat in the right chair during classes, else i'd bump elbows with the righty next to me, and when we had to learn to write with a fountain pen. because my arm leans across the paper i always used to smudge my work, this drove me insane!
Toots, fankin you for the hugs, not been busy as such, just done a few tasks through the week. Stuff i can handle without wearing myself out.but i intend to compleate the lists' tomorrow morning(well as much as i can before we go) then do somemore when we get home. I am determined to get a few more stars this week even if it wears me out!
Piggers- Party at yours!!!! Whooooooooooooooo can i come?!
right, eyes are going so off back up to bed. xxx0 -
