i doubt very much that they have it on account that they did not send you a txt and that they are admitting it so that they do not get bad press, i can see them having a list of people who were not imformed of a change like this.0

I've just emailed o2 as my bill was £78 this month due to being charged for GPRS usage. I know it's not as much as some of you on this thread but it's still a lot when you weren't expecting it!! I've had free GPRS since December 04. Will have to look for a new contract if they're going to continue to charge!
Thanks for the contact info for o2.0 -
Hi all, long time browser, first time poster.
Got my bill through and it is around the £833 mark for the month! About £750 of this is due to GPRS services.
I used my mobile 4 times to upload and download some files/e-mails from my work PC and my home PC through my mobile. I've told O2 that there is a mistake with my bill as they have itemised over 20 connections to the internet, when in actual fact i used it 4 times. I know this because my work has a record of how much was uploaded and downloaded from my work PC.
Anyway, despite me telling O2 this on a few occasions now, they are adamant that i have to pay the bill, and if i don't then it'll go to debt collectors! I've never ever had any credit problems before so i'm quite worried about this, plus i can't use my phone as it is now barred.
Can anyone offer me advice, i've told O2 that my internet usage should be around the £40-80 mark, but they don't seem to care. I don't know what to do as i'm certainly not going to pay it, but i don't want to get into credit problems.0 -

Ah, ok, cheers.0

Hmmm, after reading the posts, my problem is that there is times on my itemised bill where i know i didn't use the GPRS on my phone (i was in work so would have had no need).0

Well, thankfully it's all been sorted now with O2 refunding all the GPRS charges. Good job to them too.0

I know this might sound very silly but I have always checked my hotmail, and the way I have found to keep the amount down is to not look at images and it gives you the options on the mobile!!! Hopefully with o2s new tarrifs there will be an unlimited gprs or wap for say £7 a month like tmobile...0

Many thanks

Hi Anon,
Sorry for the delay in response but I havent been online
The first time I rang customer services and they were really unhelpful and just didn't want to know and weren't prepared to do anything about it,as far as they were concerned I received the text about the charges and that was that.
The second time I emailed the complaint and told them that I had proof that not everyone had received the text and if they didn't resolve it I would be taking it further. 02 responded saying they had passed it to the relevant dept. Heard nothing for maybe a week and after emailing again asking what the hold up was the next day I got a very nice email from someone who referred to themselves as the gprs champion!! They were champion, they sorted it all very efficiently and even gave me the extra free month unlimited wap usage0
