We had a dog eating Elf incident last year...
Took me a minute to read this one - wondered if a very ferocious and hungry elf had arrived at your house!!!
I have given up on looking for an elf and have got a little Christmas teddy. I'm going to steal someone else's idea (sorry i can't remember who it was but thank you!) and let the teddy arrive with a little letter saying he gets lonely as all the elves and santa are so busy there's nobody to play with him.
Meant to be arriving 1 Dec, which gives me very little time to get organised - will have to keep things fairly simple I think in terms of his arrival, he will porbably arrive in the fireplace perhaps with a little sprinkling of snow - any ideas what I coudl use for this?? Had thought maybe icing sugar but don't know if this will make a great big mess. Or talc?
Thanks by the way for this great thread, I have been a lurker and following you on email...;)0 -
Hi, like a lot of you I have struggled to find an elf doll so I'm going to try and get the Tesco Christmas girl doll. I've done a search on the grocery site and Direct but can't seem to find her so I'm going to have to visit the shops tomorrow and try and get her. Can anyone who has bought her already tell me if she with the decorations or in the toy section? I'm planning on just running in the store and leaving ds and dd in the car with dh so it'll help if I know where I am running to! Thanks in advance.0

I hope the children will be happy with this 1. I've asked my MIL if she can knit me one so she will have a look for a pattern & hopefully I can use that 1 instead.

Thats great, thanks a lot. I had my heart set on the Fiesta Toys Plush Santa's Helper doll and searched all over to try and find cheap postage from USA as I couldn't find him here but it just works out too expensive for me to justify it. Then I thought about a Build a Bear, they do a lot of cute outfits but again they are expensive and I don't live near a store so would have to pay their expensive postage too.
The Tesco one looks good too though. Thanks again.0 -

The best things about theses ones is you can buy accessories and different clothes - The elves can dress up and cause all kinds of mischief!!
Hope it helps someone x0 -
I'd ordered an elf from America and was starting to get worried that he wasn't going to arrive for the 1st December but he got here today and he's really cute (I'll put a picture on soon!):j He came with a lovely book with a story all about how the elves had finished their toy making early and he went to see Santa and was sad and crying and wanted to go and see real boys and girls! Santa said he could go as long as he let Santa know if the boys and or girls he would be staying with were well behaved so that he knew who to bring presents for. I've done a little note and put it with the book - it's from the elf saying hope that the boys are still behaving nicely and that he will see them soon
