He's going to arrive tomorrow I've wrapped him in a sleeping bag made from bubble wrap and christmas paper and the kids' first task is to make him a comfy bed. He's bringing advent calendars with him.
For his journal harib0uk I've just printed off some christmas paper and stuck it together in a flip book fashion (I can't post pics yet sorry)
I'm going to blog my elf activities, but just on my normal blog I think.
I think I'll just get a small note book to use as a journalTrying to make a better life.... If you need me you'll find me at the allotment.0 -
We have our elf - well, he's actually a reindeer. He has long legs and a knitted jumper and scarf an little hessian shorts. He's about 10 inches tall and he's adorable! The only problem is our 18 month old spotty dog is taking an unhealthy interest in him.
Just need to think of a name now and re-do my elf letter because he's not an elf!0 -

Our Elf Otis is arriving tomorrow! I have got to finish his sleigh to arrive in today ( made from a cardboard box cut into the shape of a sleigh and decorated with tinsel and glitter etc!) He will bring my children their advent calendars too.
Otis has also got something planned for my children everyday after school. Some days its something like a Christmas film or playing board games others it is baking christmas cookies, cakes or sweets and the rest of the time it will be arts and crafts.
I am very excited myself and cannot wait! :rotfl:
Care to share any ideas of your planned activities?? I am really struggling to get things sorted at the minute, I have some ideas of what the elf can do but not really got ideas about activities for the kids as such.
I have a journal book and managed to get some lovely papers which I will cover the book with this afternoon if I can get DD to bed.
I also have some beautiful organza fabric which will make a lovely bed for my elf (another thing to do tonight) this should have been done a couple of weeks ago but the fabric that I ordered never arrived  and I am still waiting for a refund! .....
Pics to follow!!! ....

I have been trawling the internet all morning and eventually came up with this which I have copy and pasted:
It is with extreme pleasure that I write you this letter to introduce to you this Magic Elf [insert elf name here] who has been assigned to your family this Holiday Season.
This Magic Elf will remain with your family from now until Christmas Eve when I will collect him as I make my deliveries.
He has a very special task – and that is to make sure that there are good little boys and girls living here in this house. Any mischief or acts of naughtiness will be recorded in his journal and he will share them with me.
He will explore your house from top to bottom as he makes sure that everyone in the family is behaving themselves.
I feel that i should warn you that this Magic Elf is also very mischievous. If you catch him making any Elf mischief please make a note of it in his Elf Report and leave it for me on Christmas Eve.
I hope you and your Magic Elf will have a wonderful time together.
will tweak it a little to make it more personal.

Mr. S. Claus
Santa’s Workshop
North Pole
To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to introduce the bearer of this note to the Magic Elf
assigned to your family this holiday season.
This Magic Elf will visit your household from now until Christmas Eve, to
observe the behaviour of any good little boys or girls residing herein. When I
arrive on Christmas Eve, the Magic Elf will present a detailed report and then return to Santa’s Workshop with me.
Be wary! Your Magic Elf will explore the house from top to bottom in order
to make a proper report; at any time, the Elf’s whereabouts may be subject
to whimsy.
I must also add that I have been made aware of prior incidents of Elf
Mischief on the part of this particular Magic Elf ( hence the absence of Visa stamps for the past few years - this Elf had to spend time at the North Pole under my close supervision ) Should any Elf Mischief occur, please feel free to contact me at the above address or write down any misdemeanours in the enclosed journal.
Make sure that the Elf is ready and waiting on Christmas Eve but not next to the mince pie and drink that you leave for me ( this Elf has a liking for mince pies )
Yours sincerely,
Santa
PS : You may want to name your Magic Elf ( here at the North Pole they are known only by a number )
AM SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!:jPobodys Nerfect:j0 -

That looks fantastic im so jealous. My elf is currently sitting in a bag half sewn up so think he might be a little late arriving maybe next week but shes only 2 so dont think timing re advent calendars will be an issue this time around :rudolf:0
