I find the packaging fine. But then again, it is almost identical to my previous B&L soflens lenses.

There is a knack. Definitely persevere with the instructions they provide for opening as that is exactly how I do it and I can have both lenses inserted in under 30 seconds. The only thing I do differently from the pics is to use my ring finger to get the lens out as this keeps my index finger dry which I find helps with insertion.

I use Acuvue 1 day lenses which are expensive compared to Daysoft so I 'm thinking of switching.
How are people finding them- are they just as comfortable as the more well known brands.
(It would be could to here from peeps who have switched from acuvue)
And what about delivery - do they deliver as quickly as the say and no problems?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I ordered these during the week. I usually wear 1-day Acuvue and have been more than happy with them, but with the difference in price I had to give these a go. I've only worn them once so far, and not too successfully. I was getting what has been described in another post as 'burning'. I would liken it to wearing the 1-day Acuvue for 18 hours in an air-conditioned room. They seemed to dry out quicker. Not to sure if it was the weather this week. Will have another go tomorrow. Still, three goes left of the free trial, nothing ventured etc......

My wife tried these having been using Focus dailies up until now.

She felt they were not as comfortable, and more importantly, her close up vision was not as sharp (eg doing eye makeup!)

So having tried the 4 days free samples, we returned the remainder, and am pleased to report that the refund was processed without any delay (I did email them in advance to let them know though.)

Did you search the forum for posts about lenses? If so, the search produces all the posts with the search terms highlighted
  • Hi,
    Thanks to the OP.
    This sounds great.
Does anybody know what the difference in the 58 & 72 lens. I know it is to do with the water content, but what overall effect does this have.
If it stops you from getting dry eyes then why doesn't everybody just get the 72's?
    Thanks for any imput.

  • I have worn contact lenses on and off for 30 years. I used to have to make the lenses last for at least a year because they were expensive to replace. Therefore I am quite good at cleaning and looking after them.

I had a free trial with a local optician, which provided 30 free pairs of daily disposables. Two years on I still have 40 lenses left.
    Two reasons:
The very kind optician suggested using just one lens in my dominant eye, (I am short sighted but would need reading glasses if wearing lenses in both eyes). This is called mono-vision and it works for me.

You can also re-use Daily lenses if cleaned and sterilised properly, a recent Which? report exposed the fact that there was no or very little difference between Daily,Weekly and Monthly lenses. Solutions are much cheaper than lenses! ANNUAL COST £10

Please, Please, Please, do not do this! it is very dangerous to the health of your eyes, i'm an optician, and have seen on too many occasions (and sent too many people to the eye department of the local hospital) what can happen to someones eyes when they over wear a lens, this can range from a mild inflammation or infection, ulceration of the corneal epithelium, to much worse, contact lenses are tested and designed for the wear indicated on the box and explained by the optician, please do not exceed this,

the article in which did not give the full picture and they certainlly dont have to sort out the problems if and when things go wrong.

i have only joined this website to make you aware of this, i feel that strongly!

all i advise is have your check ups done at the correct intervals, only wear your lenses for the time they have been designed and tested for, and if you want to try/buy daysoft, please let your optician know so that they can make detailed notes on your records
but please do not re-wear daily disposible contact lenses
