Maybe if you buy fully skimmed after x amount for the week runs out, it might put them off drinking so much. Or change to the UHT on every other bottle to save some pennies. It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

I think people do consume huge amounts of dairy in this country!
I mentioned to my doctor I was cutting right back on milk products, as they affect my tummy, and I don't like some of the practices used in modern dairy farming. She looked at me with horror when I said it, and exclaimed I should not take it upon myself to change my own diet! I am not sure if she believed me to be so stupid I couldn't figure out what food to replace it with or if she was being paid by the dairy industry! hehe
There are many different sources of calcium, vit D, K, B12 etc, I actually consume more calcium now I have given my diet more thought than before! I have a few friends who were intolerant to dairy as children and are perfectly healthy now too, and give more thought to what they eat than most people I know.
I'm not saying you shouldn't drink milk, just that it isn't a desperate necessitiy that people keep telling me it is!0 -
My brother used to put green food colouring in his milk when at uni. Made no difference to the taste, but no-one stole it!!0

I had a student friend who was fed up with her milk being drunk and so used to label it "microbiology experiment" funnily enough it didnt tend to get drunk after thatMoved in 12/09 Mortgage 126K0 -
There is calcium in milk but it is easier to process and use calcium in other foods (such as greens). Dairy is hugely over-rated in this country and in countries where it is used sparingly (I'm thinking Japan), they have fewer cases of osteoporosis....0

I live alone and am astonished at how much milk I get through a week.
I usually get through 8 pints - luckily I buy it from farm Foods.. 2 x 4 pints for £150, but it still seems a lot of milk for one person. How can I cut down? I just use if for coffee/tea and sometimes cooking.:j £2 coins = £2.00 :j0 -
Crikey!
I'd say keep a milk diary - write down every time you use it and every time you open a new one. It might be a sign that you are addicted to caffeine rather than milk though - how many cuppas do you get through in a day?0 -
Yeah I do drink lots of coffee
Keep a spending diary, now gonna keep a milk diary lol
